MISSISSIPPI: Mississippi has the strictest requirements for voting absentee in the nation. First, the absentee ballot application must be witnessed and signed by an official such as a Notary Public. The voter must complete and sign an affidavit on the application and the Notary must execute a jurat for the voter’s signature (Mississippi Code § 23-15-627). Applications for voters with a temporary or permanent physical disability may be witnessed and signed by a person age 18 or older in place of notarization. https://www.nationalnotary.org/notary-bulletin/blog/2020/09/guide-state-vote-by-mail-notarization You will also note the lack of most states in this article. Please note the states in orange are the only states to require a notary. All other states do not require a notary, though it is still accepted (and if it is not required, how many do you think actually do it)? So, I ask you seriously, Piezoe. If you aren't required to get a notary and you can just sign and send, how can you be so sure everyone is who they say they are? Good faith?
Understand. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/n...wins-technical-glitch-vote-totals/6186062002/ Oakland Co. official goes from loss to win after 'technical glitch' in vote totals Rochester Hills — A narrow defeat in an Oakland County commissioner race Tuesday has now turned into a big victory for the incumbent following a corrected “glitch” in vote tabulations. Adam Kochenderfer, R-Rochester Hills, went to bed Tuesday night believing, with all precincts reporting, he had lost his seat on the 21-member Board of Commissioners to Democratic challenger Melanie Hartman by 104 votes — 19,448 to 19,344
Of course, we could make voting easy, fast, transparent, accurate and virtually impossible to cheat at, by doing it over the internet with a unified and interconnected system the same way we do banking. Bank transactions can be traced. If there is a mistake, it can quickly be rectified. All Banks use the same interconnected, secure systems for transactions. The transactions have proven to be very secure. I know why we won't do this. It has nothing to do technical matters. It would probably require unified government to implement, which is just one reason it's not going to happen.
Thanks. I did note know Mississippi's requirements were the most strict. I did learn that voting absentee in Mississippi was a pain in the butt.
Another mischaracterization by the Left. Trump supporters demanding their votes count is not a “Melt down”.
Seems to be a lot of Trump supporters demanding that mail-in votes don't count. Except in Arizona for some reason. Almost seems like the Trump cult only wants to win an election, and the means to how don't matter, even if it means completely trashing what democracy is. You know who does this ? Fascist dictators. They get in power then refuse to leave. It's a disgrace.
And there is the antiquated Electoral College nonsense. Someone asked on another topic, do Dems still want it done away with? Yes they do. (BTW not a D or R at all) They won the popular vote again. Reps used, against Pres Obama, too close to previous election to vote on Supreme Court justice, then did so themselves under Chumpie this time. The hypocrites would feel the same if elections after elections they won the popular vote but sometimes got screwed by EC. And of course not to leave out Dem hypocrites they would like no change if the shoe was on other foot getting EC benefit sometimes when they did not win popular vote. But do we want California to decide who wins? No Alaska should - they have more land. Because having more is important, riiiiiiiiiiiight. And then there is 99.9% white (ok not quite, still) Iowa and New Hampshire getting all the early candidate picking "glory". The American way GIGO.
