UN resolutions: Hezbollah vs Israel

Discussion in 'Politics' started by jorgeamado88, Aug 3, 2006.

  1. Blah blah blah. After removing BS, your reason is: Israel is a sovereign state and Hezbollah is a guerilla. That's not advocating why one party should act on UN resolutions before the other.

  2. Wow, Pabst you blow me away with your BS. Off topic.

  3. Nice one again Pabst. Were you beaten with towels in the locker rooms when you were a kid? You're such a gay-hater... Grow up and start seeing people instead of labels.

  4. I'm not going to ridicule you this time Nick, because you actually have a point. The UN is a diplomatic forum and as such is only as strong as it's member states willingness to follow through on resolutions passed.

  5. Because Israel is a western country? I dispute that fact. Have you checked to the west of Israel and found Egypt on the map? It is of course secular, but it's not in the US, UK, Australia kind of league.

I know for sure that one thing Israel haven't done in the past is pay any attention to UN resolutions. So there's no reason to start whining about Hezbollah not complying with these.

FYI I'm not on the left. I'm not siding with Hezbollah. However I do believe terrorism is a poor man's war, and that it's the only difference compared to for instance the state of Israel.

  6. In the sense that we need to respect the danger AQ presents, you're right.

Muslim propaganda. Are you kidding? Do you think the PR budgets of Jewish organisations in the US as well as the "Information" budget of the state of Israel is bigger or smaller than what the muslims are spending on PR? The propaganda is mainly going the other way, Sam.

There are of course many differences and similarities between Hezbollah and AQ, but I don't really see why we should go into that here?

No, I'm afraid Hezbollah and Hamas won't disappear overnight if Israel were, for some sick reason, to be wiped off the map. Just look at Northern Ireland and the complexities there.

  7. Talking about Monster Balloons is funny. Start with bringing the War on Terror to Iraq. Using one of Great Leaders favourite phrases I'd say that going into Iraq was "not helpful" in the war on terror.

  9. Aren't you forgetting the millions of Palestinian refugees that were fucked out of their homecountry?

When you say "reproducing like rabbits" you're repeating the old nazi-Germany logic. Indeed the similarities with the extreme religiious right in Israel and the old nazis are there...

  10. Why don't you also call on Israel to start complying with the corresponding resolutions? And how well do you yourself, sir, fit into the whole "western values" thing if you think people should be bombed, killed or driven from their homes based upon their thinking? Is that the way the US will bring democracy to the Middle East? I guess the US should concentrate on getting their own political system to at least resemble a democracy before talking high and mighty about it.
