The heyday of bullets was 2000 to 2002. We had huge compliance issues. The partners of the firm were taken to court. Specialists tried to shut us down. Our firm basically shut down, moved out, turned out the lights and went on the run. It was a freaking mess. A lot of traders lost their capital and never recovered all of it. I can't even begin to tell you all the illegal shit that went on. At the time, I had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. I knew what bullets were and made 90% of my income off them. I knew how to use them and I used them. I had no idea that the OTC transactions that we were suppose to be doing with Susquehanna never took place, that all it was a transaction log.

  2. Not necessarily "un" borrowable. We have had to "pre-borrow" these issues today (first time that I can recall) vs. simply "Locating" the shares. Problem is that there is a fee for pre-borrowing, and unknown fee at that (at lease so far) due to supply and demand of these shares borrowed.

It's been an interesting morning so far, LOL. We've borrowed quite a number of shares on these issues.

We'll see how this pans out....

I have to pay 1.5 pennies per sharel All of them are available but at an extra penny and a half. The irony is I get charged even if I don't use them.

  7. Yeah, that's the rub. This is a first for us, paying if we don't use them.....

but that's how it was with bullets, eh Maverick? A bit more than a transaction log....or is it, LOL.

  8. IS SEC being tricked? I am seeing LEH movement,it is trading much below Fridays level. When there is a unknown huge naked shorts are there and are required to be covered quickly, one would estimate a rapid price movement. I am not seeing that. this is hugely a surprise to me. Can someone help me on that? Or is it something a stabilization is happening and we will see an orderly upward trend due to covering? Please share your thoughtes and pass your comment.

  9. Another area they have (again) turned a blind eye too, is that of late trading by MF's.

Every time there is significant news after the bell, sure as hell the indices are still moving, well after their official closes, today being no exception.

SSDD, (same s^&, different day, (week, month year, etc, etc)

Not that it's a surprise or anything, just another example of their collective ineptitude, or their complete lack of disregard to enforce the rules they are (supposedly) charged with enforcing.

Foxes guarding the hen-house...yeah, you can trust us.

Are any of these agencies accountable to anyone?

Looks like it's just a free-for-all, wild west all over again, anything goes.
