UK Traders using IB - experiences?

  1. Got it working. My TWS was set to North America, changed to Europe and restarted and was able to get the browser redirect going to the subscription pages.

Just leaving it here in case anyone has this issue in future.

If you Google pictures of the inside of the concorde flight deck all you see is buttons and switches and lights and levers everywhere except for the only place you can't place something... the windows. TWS is like that. Complicated. And the charting capabilities are neanderthal. That's how I found it. Might be different for you. It is very good for shares trading. A highly capable platform with loads of information and features at your fingertips. Depends on how you want to use it. For the small time retailer it sucks balls but for the more advanced trader jumping between various disciplines it is a feature rich platform. Best of luck.

  5. Graantx, after poking around a lot more yesterday I'm starting to see what you mean. Spent ages trying to get a volatility scanner going yesterday. There was a premade IV one but wasn't giving me what I wanted. Everything's definitely really messy in settings.

  6. AIM's are exempt though. Have been for about 5 or 6 years now.
