The United Kingdom has blocked over 1 million suspicious emails, likely involved with scams. All of these emails have been reported by the public after the beginning of a new initiative called Suspicious Email Reporting Service. Apparently the initiative receives about 16,500 reports per day.

The reported emails often link back to scams and a large part of these scams are apparently connected to cryptocurrency fraud. Out of 10,000 reported links over a half had connections to such cryptocurrency scams.

The service launched back in April in connection to the Cyber Aware campaign and its purpose was to involve UK citizens in safeguarding public financial safety. The initiative itself was developed with the assistance of the City of London police. Apart from blocking scam emails and sites, it aims to support the local police through real life time analysis of reports and identifying novel patterns in cyber crimes.

It sounds like a great initiative, but I hope that they double check for malicious reports too.

Exactly. Unscrupulous competitors will try to undermine their competitors with fake postings.

    1 million, that's a good day's work. Make that's a good hour's worth.

Or people who have a beef with others using it for retaliation.
