UK State Grammar School Applications

  1. Good state grammar schools tend to be academically competitive and have a bright diligent student body across social classes, that's my perception. But since they are state (local council) funded, they only accept applications from catchment areas.

Just say, if I am currently living in Midlands and child attending a strong state primary school, if possible I would like to apply to multiple state grammar schools in different catchments (Yorkshire, SouthEast, etc) and will indeed relocate to the catchment if accepted. Is it possible to somehow game the system and apply when not-in-catchment at application time?
