There is no ideal major for trading, and if there was economics and political science would probably be on top of my list, it should help you in hf/macro trading. As weird as it sounds top hedge funds actually like to hire english/history majors from top undegrad schools. They are supposed to have good writing and research skills which come in very handly first few years on the job.
