Crash Course: Chapter 10 - Inflation (Part 1 of 2) by Chris Martenson

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-xCy6sDxnhs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Chapter 10 (Inflation - Part 1 of 2): Dr. Martenson establishes inflation as a monetary phenomenon, defined as the decrease of the value of money, caused by too much money around in relation to goods and services. From 1665 to 1776, 111 years, there was absolutely no inflation. From 1665 to 1905, 240 years, the cost of living stayed roughly the same, aside from brief jumps during wars.

Unfortunately for us, there was no settling in terms of inflation after World War I or World War II. The military apparatus was not dismantled, and inflation has accelerated to astonishingly high levels.

Chapter 11 (How Much Is A Trillion?): Recently, we have gotten used to hearing the word "trillion." From trillions of dollars of government debt to trillion dollar bailout packages, we are spending enormous sums of money. However, most of us dont realize how much a trillion actually is. Dr. Martenson explains how much a trillion is using a few examples, such as a 67.9 mile high stack of $1,000 bills. As he concludes: "Make no mistake, a trillion is a very, very big number and we should not be lulled into complacency simply because it is too big to really get our minds around. That should drive us to action instead."

The Maryland primary is less than a week away and one specific group candidates like to attract is young voters. Hundreds of them showed last night at a Town Hall meeting at the University of Maryland to support Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

Max E. Pad Reply to South Americas:

I dont understand how you can reconcile being a huge fan of Al gore, and then switching over to Ron Paul. I would have thought that Al Gore is basically the antithesis of Ron Paul. Gore is a keynesian who would support a 1 world government controlling everyone.

Dont get me wrong, I like Ron Paul, but there isnt a hope in hell that i would support a blow hard like Al Gore.

Great speech by Congressman Ron Paul about the deteriorating state of our once great American Republic. Both parties now support endless foreign wars and aggression, unlimited corporate bailouts, the printing of money and devaluing of our currency by the Federal Reserve and bankrupting entitlement programs. Vote for Ron Paul so we can begin to restore America to the great beacon of hope and freedom it was intended to be.
