Again achilles28, my case in point. Not everyone opposed to immigrants is a racist. However for many it's a pretty flimsy covering for racism and for people like this jackass it's just pure, naked redneck racism.
As someone who has worked in the Tech industry for decades let me give my perspective on H1-B Visas. Way back when someone joined your team who had an H1-B Visa you were overjoyed because usually the individual was really sharp, hard-worked, and among the best you could ever add to a company. Back then -- these Visa holders were also paid proper salaries for the industry (in many cases above industry salary). The situation now is very different -- in the IT industry many H1-B Visa holders are brought over simply as cheap labor, significantly below the salaries offered in the industry. The other problem is that many of those selected do not have the necessary qualifications to hold IT positions and their resumes are simply photo-copies of others with the names changed (in other words their resumes are complete fakes). It has reached the point in many tech companies now that the managers are from India, etc. and take kickbacks from offshore recruiting firms for taking these under-qualified people on. There are also many Indian consulting firms such as TCS in the U.S. whose personnel are nearly 100% H1-B Visa holders (the proposed Trump Visa changes with the 15% H1-B Visa limit are aimed at these firms). This all being said... I have worked with some excellent H1-B Visa holders from India and elsewhere over the years. I hope some reasonable solution can be worked out to allow well-qualified tech workers into the U.S. My solution involves not locking H1-B Visa workers into one company (currently it is a form of indentured servitude). Allow them to work for any employer for the highest wages and the free market will take care of the problem.
Since the current CEO's of Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Pepsi, and dozens of other big companies in the U.S. are originally from India, I'd feel like I was in pretty good company if I was from India. I actually feel a bit bad to be a white American because people like you make us all look like idiot racist a-holes.
That is the opposite of my my experience. They usually lie about their experience. I've been sent over there many times. Their infrastructure is crumbling with limited computerized administration. We went over and trained them.
I'm pretty damn clear about who I am, why don't you search my back posts? Again, I'd be proud to say I was from India if I was, and ignorant racists like you make me somewhat ashamed to say I'm from the United States despite having spent an entire first career in the military protecting your right to be such an a-hole.
You are saying there is no western exec qualified so they hire from 3rd world, with min IT infrastructure. They only use foreign exec for better offshore pricing. Walk into any IT center in the west and you would think you're in india, with a few token westerners thrown in. I remember 25 years ago IT leaders were given stock from foreign companies to promote offshore. The lack of qualified western engineers, programmers and scientist is a myth. After 25 years the cycle has finally come around, now the promoters are retired or dead. The cheap labor has risen to near western levels. Now it's time for them to train our graduates, like we did for them.
