As usual you merely attack and insult people while not dealing with the facts.

Toronto is a diverse school system including a mix of racial groups. It does not have a high concentration of a single race such as white or black. However Toronto is over-represented by Asians as a demographic. Asians are a demographic group that outperform generally in education due to strong family support for education.

As noted in the article, the achievement gap for blacks in the Toronto School System versus any other race is greater than nearly any school system in the U.S.; hence Toronto is failing badly in the education of blacks. Obviously this is an example of Canadian education failing a minority group far worse than school systems in the U.S.

Maybe it is time that you woke up and fixed the problems in education in your own country before flinging nonsense on the strong results in other countries with diverse populations.

    1. I was not attempting to compare anything to Canada. I don't know anything about your school system. If you a have a good one, I am happy. I like it when people live free and happy lives with education and religious freedom.

    2. You completely ignorant of how jobs work in America. With respect to law jobs. Over half the people in law school are now women. And women get great jobs out of law school. In terms of getting into to law school... being a white male is not a positive.

My wife is a nurse with and advance degree. She works as the equivalent of a 1st or 2nd year doctor. I have met all sorts of doctors. Doctors who are from schools all over. In the states you can go to medical in other countries and still get very high paying jobs here if you put in the time and want it enough. Many do. I have met them. You can even go to the OD / non real medical type schools and make 400 K a year and be called doctor.

I would say the only significant discriminating I see being done in America for good jobs is being done by democrats and its frequently reverse discrimantion.

in short you rally are blinded by leftist media if you think minorities don't have great access to very high paying jobs in our top fields here. In San Diego, I would say white male doctors born in American are highly underrepresented. But, I have never complained because it looks to me that if you work hard you can be a doctor.

The racial overtones of your recent opinions are insulting a lot of people on the planet yet you think we should play nice with you ? And your arrogant habit of thinking you know more about Toronto then I do based on office gossip and random online news articles is absurd. The US will continue to have severe social issues as long as people like you continue to make excuses for your countries policies and behavior and not fix the underlying issues.

In regards to all of my posts about Canada I have provided links from the government and media to fully back my assertions. Whether the subject is healthcare, education, or any other topic any reader is free to go back and read my fully documented responses to your false assertions. You have regularly put out insulting and derogatory commentary about the U.S. while making assertions about Canadian superiority based on fabricated information.

I have pointed out both the positive and negative about the Canada and the U.S. in all my fact-based commentary. I recognize that improvement can be made in both countries in regards to healthcare and education.

Measurements of school performance is based on demographic groups. Pointing out the differences in racial performance does not make me a racist, it simply reinforces that I am pointing out the facts based on how student performance is measured. This may be a good time to point out -- once again -- that when directly comparing demographic group to demographic group the K-12 education performance in the U.S. is generally superior to that in Canada based on student achievement and test results.

I have always advocated fixing the underlying issues. The question is what is the best way of addressing the problems. In regards to the education gap, many measures (more money, social promotion, teaching ebonics, common core, getting tough with parents, etc.) have been tried... most have failed. A couple measures that seem to be succeeding is non-profit charter schools in low-income areas and a focus on personal responsibility for students.

I will note that the PISA test is given every three years with the latest being 2015. It only represents a sampling of students from each country, not all the students.

"The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students.

In 2015 over half a million students, representing 28 million 15-year-olds in 72 countries and economies, took the internationally agreed two-hour test. Students were assessed in science, mathematics, reading, collaborative problem solving and financial literacy.

The results of the 2015 assessment were published on 6th December 2016."

Here is the PISA website for more information:

You're allowed to talk about blacks in this country, provided you're whining about how mistreated they are.

But you're not allowed to discuss how blacks are not pulling their weight in educational test scores or in the give and take of gov't handouts. That would be racist.

And of course the opposite is true when discussing whites. You can only criticize whites.

This scam is going to ruin the country. If it's not already ruined.

I put him back on ignore; I suppose it really doesn't matter to me if he thinks he's a valuable source of info about Toronto. We benefited from some pretty strong public schools in North York, the same borough that he's harping about the poorer results. So yes, there is some variance, and it's exasperated by the results of the top schools. Streaming of "gifted" students also creates variance.
