Well I operate on the assumption that everyone is always trying to maximize their interests. In some cases this means that fraud etc. takes place, while 99% of the time it means that:

    a) Problems are ignored until they become extremely serious
    b) People who are less smart, less careful, lacking in experience and information will be taken advantage of

That said, "criminally manipulated" is quite a charge and, for me, it does require proof. You obviously can't 'prove' that somebody isn't a criminal.

As an example, people on these forums take it for granted that economic data etc. is just manufactured to say whatever the government desires, usually based off of rumors, dubious internet sites and the like. Well, having known people who worked at e.g. BEA, BLS, JEC, I know for a fact that this isn't the case. These people are just ordinary civil servants who try to do their jobs as well as they can. Professional economists and statisticians might disagree about methodology, leading to periodic revisions in how the data is collected or processed, but there's not some massive conspiracy to keep people in the dark. If there is, why did the govt 'allow' jobs to fall in January?

  3. If you are so down and out, go to HOME DEPOT buy a nylon rope and a plastic stool, and check into a $20 Motel room and hang yourself to the ceiling fan, at least your dead carcass would be found spinning into the fetid air and not lifeless as such.

    Great post.

    The Founders had it right.

    Concentrated power begets corruption.

    Always has, always will.

Its human nature to cannibalize others in pursuit of the ultimate aphrodisiac.

  6. A considered, well thought out and correct way of thinking. Anybody who disagrees with this, is naive to some degree.

When it is impossible to deny that there is a recession without being comletely non credible the focus will switch to whether it will be a "U" or a "V" shaped recovery. It will never be called a recession, but a "mild slow down of growth" or a "below trend period" etc etc

  10. your assumption is wrong right from the start

"everyone is always trying to maximize their interests"

yes the majority of humans are busy working and struggling to obtain the necessities of life, to earn a decent income, and wishfully become wealthy, they have no time to care for any higher desires (if they have any), the highest desire of the average man is to live so he can continue dreaming of becoming famous and rich (that's one reason why stars exist; to keep people dreaming)

if you ever get over your basic desires you will find playing with other humans lives and minds as a great joy in your life, this has nothing to do with being physiologically ill, it is actually completely natural, if you ever start desiring this, they just want you to think of yourself as someone ill, even some animals play with their prey before they eat it, what is the pleasure they find in playing with the life of the weak?

and then there are people who are willing to ruin their own lives just so they can screw others too, this again is not illness, it is sacrificing ones life for a greater joy (the joy of fucking others lives)

'"criminally manipulated" is quite a charge'

yes maybe for you, since you are under the law, for someone above the law, being a criminal would make no sense. smart people are evil by nature, because they have the ability to play with other's minds, average people on the other hand, lack this capability and so go along with accepting nonsense like morals and virtues
