U.S. continuing claims rise 129,000 to 6.23M

  1. U.S. initial jobless claims drop 12,000 to 545,000
  2. I guess some improvement.
    unadjusted just 407 000

    market will be happy at the open
  3. Unemployment 9.7%

    Labor force of USA = 154.3 million (per CIA factbook)

    Number of unemployed = 14,967,100 people

    We'll see a big bump in unemployment at the end of the year, when the Christmas pink slips go out.
