"The military general credited with capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, says he has spoken with President Obama only once since taking command in Afghanistan.

"I’ve talked to the president, since I’ve been here, once on a VTC [video teleconference]," Gen. Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.

"You’ve talked to him once in 70 days?" Mr. Martin followed up.

"That is correct," the general replied.

This revelation comes amid the explosive publication of an classified report written by the general that said the war in Afghanistan "will likely result in failure" if more troops are not added next year. Yet, the debate over health care reform continues to dominate Washington’s political discussions. On Monday, the White House announced President Obama would travel to Denmark to lobby the International Olympic Committee to select his hometown of Chicago for the 2012 summer games.

Former U.S. Ambassador for the United Nations John R. Bolton said the lack of communication with the general was indicative of Mr. Obama’s misplaced priorities."
  2. The story is a bit mis-leading................The General was also given a "Change We Can Believe In" T-shirt and a signed picture of Mr. Obama himself.

I hope for the generals sake it was the bullet proof version.
  4. Yawn.
Yet another idiotic attempt at portraying the CIC as being asleep at the wheel.

I wonder why the reporter didn't ask the SECRETARY of DEFENSE, Robert Gates how many times he's had meetings with the President.

This is probably news to him, as well as such low IQ posters as "Dr. Jerk and Jack", but Gates is a cabinet member.

  5. One of the last pro-Obama hold-outs still trying to throw the old hope and change bullshit out there. Landis loses on style and substance. I would expect no less.

BTW, I seem to recall Bush first appointing Gates to the post. So much for change.
  6. McChrystal's immediate supervisor is General Petraeus commander of central command. So Obama tells Gates, Gates tells Petraeus and Petraeus tells McChrystal or Gates tells McChrystal directly.
  7. Exactly.

But "Dr. Jerk & Jack" failed his civics class in high school, and therefore has NO CLUE about how the chain of command works at the Pentagon.

I swear, this kid has got to be the dumbest poster on ET. He is constantly putting his foot in his mouth. You would think that he'd want to give himself a "rest" on Weekends, but apparently not.

He posted 17 times this past Sunday! :D
Apparently, ET is his only "friend".

Only once because that's all the general could stomach.
  9. I'm sure Barry will take care of this while he's in Copenhagen with Oprah. I'm pretty sure he's got a Twitter account.
  10. LOL, I have a stalker who watches everything I do. Hey Landis if I am so stupid why are so concerned about me. Its simple, because you get your ass handed to you everytime. Just admit that your boy Barry is a total fraud. He is the Ryan Leaf of politics. He got a lot of hype and has failed to deliver anything. Obama can't even find the time to talk to the guy who is charge of executing a war. Obama has devoted more time Letterman.
