U.S. big bag of wind

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Humpy, Apr 25, 2007.

  1. The Soviets seemed to do a pretty good job of subduing Eastern Europe after WW II. The US destroyed the viet cong as a fighting force, but when we pulled out , the north vietnamese invaded and conquered the south. The Boers were able to take over South Africa.

The problem a modern occupation force faces is that the level of killing required to subdue a well-armed insurgency is difficult for the civilized west to stomach. The problem is compounded if the insurgency has safe havens in neighboring countries and is supplied by those governments.

  2. How is the US supposed to win a peacekeeping mission anyway, what with a multitude of psychopaths that like to blow up their own relatives at the markets?

Korea, Vietnam and Iraq weren't our fights, our heart wasn't in it.

Japan was our fight and we incinerated their asses.

If we ever get a fight that belongs to us, we'll win it. Big time. Problem is, you can't find anybody, (except a few radically religious criminals), who would dare take us on. Pictures of Hiroshima remain fresh in every governments mind.

Don't act like you don't know.

Joe Stalin used to regularly give his supporters in towns and cities a target figure of people say 10%, of the population to round up and exterminate as enemies of the State. They were mostly innocent and the ruling clique just wanted their houses etc..
In Iraq the situation is so bad the ruling clique would have to round up a figure nearer 90% for extermination and keep 10%, to keep a lid on the situation.
Hardly compatible with a moral society ( good guys ).
So Bush might as well withdraw instead of having useless surges etc.

Most people are scared sheep: as soon as our military shows an edge over terrorism, everyone will start to think Iraq is a good idea.

I’m tired of this “Iraq was a mistake.” “We must pull out” “Illegal war” “Unwinnable war” “Civil War” “Bush’s war”. It’s all “beeheheheh” noise from scared sheep. Should the voices from quivering herds of sheep lead our country? Scared sheep scare each other. Scared sheep are known to run off cliffs. Every time Lincoln lost a battle, the scared sheep gave him grief over trying to save the Union –as if it was a political mistake.

We should stay in Iraq until we show the world that our military has an edge over terrorist tactics. We should also stay in Iraq so the occupation forces get the best oil contracts and economic deals. And finally, we should stay in Iraq so a government is formed that can’t be pushed around by Islamofacism, Iran, Syria, and Putin. It’s a tall order for sure, but pulling out without achieving these goals will make America irrelevant in the global arena.

I guess Zzzzzzzz and Sam don’t get out into the big wide world very much. Probably overweight and middle-aged.
Largely thanks to Hollywood’s Rambo etc films and poor Presidential leadership its getting to the stage where every other teenager in the 3rd world wants his/her own Kalashnikov and a target. Even some of you lot may just be able to put 2 and 2 togethor to work out for yourselves which sort of target they are looking for. An Ace is still five kills apparently.
The teenies in London and other big Western cities are not far behind – many carry knives and guns now. Look at what you foolish people are unleashing with all your macho postering. Think you safe in America ? Probably not.

  10. Certainly safer than you're in Great Britain. When any third-world scumbag dictator can kidnap your citizens (let alone troops) without firing a single shot and without any repercussions, when the british muslim community is the most extremist and violent in Europe while the british public is the most "understanding" of their actions and views you should probably stop obsessing with the safety of American citizens and get really concerned with your own safety.

No, don't thank the US and Bush for that, it's not this country's fault that the Brits have become spineless whiney pacifistic and appeasing pussies. And you're actually one of the best examples, your countrymen are kidnapped by the Iranians and Palestinians, yet you bash the US. With this attitude it's about time for you to get enrolled in Arabic language classes and Quran studies. These are going to be required classes in your country anyway and sooner than you think.
