The number of tornadoes in the U.S. has been decreasing, but every time there is a rash of tornadoes climate alarmists warn us again about global warming! http://cafeconlecherepublicans.com/...ing-obama-and-global-warming-to-save-his-skin
No they don't. The media may hype it and right wing blogs might mock it but the climate scientists do not as a whole say the tornadoes will increase. "Unfortunately, the way these reports are collected and the method of assessing damage, and hence tornado intensity, has changed over time and differs from place to place. This means the record is far from uniform. What it does reveal, though, is that from 1954 to 2003, an average of 14 more tornadoes per year have been reported, almost all in the weakest category, probably due to improved observation and reporting. In addition, changes in how we assess tornado intensity mean that those prior to the mid-1970s were rated higher in intensity than those afterwards, especially those since 2000. As a result, there is not much we can say about long-term patterns, except that the annual average count of all but the weakest tornadoes has not changed for more than half a century. Also, the timing of the tornado season hasn't changed." http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21428637.100-global-warming-heats-up-tornado-debate.html
A top official at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) rejected claims by environmental activists that the outbreak of tornadoes ravaging the American South is related to climate change brought on by global warming. Greg Carbin, the warning coordination meteorologist at NOAAâs Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, said warming trends do create more of the fuel that tornadoes require, such as moisture, but that they also deprive tornadoes of another essential ingredient: wind shear. âWe know we have a warming going on,â Carbin told Fox News in an interview Thursday, but added: âThere really is no scientific consensus or connection [between global warming and tornadic activity]â¦.Jumping from a large-scale event like global warming to relatively small-scale events like tornadoes is a huge leap across a variety of scales.â We've seen a declining level of the severe tornadoes over the last half century in the U.S.,â Lomborg told Fox News.âSo we need to be very careful not just to jump to the conclusion and say, âOh, then it's because of global warming.ââ In fact, NOAA statistics show that the last 60 years have seen a dramatic increase in the reporting of weak tornadoes, but no change in the number of severe to violent ones. More of the trace gas Carbon Dioxide is good for plant growth. Climate alarmist would have us believe carbon dioxide is lethal, destroying the planet, etc. As mentioned earlier, however, carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring gas that plants breathe in order to grow. The Global Warming Petition Project concludes that more carbon dioxide is a benefit to our planet, and rather than an increase towards levels harmful to man, plants, especially trees, are responding to increased carbon dioxide by growing faster! http://cafeconlecherepublicans.com/...ing-obama-and-global-warming-to-save-his-skin
Forestry practices you moron. Keep em coming Given that CO2 has gone up about 35% over the last 150 years from the burning of fossil fuels and we know CO2 is a dominant greenhouse gas, how could it be that temps should NOT go up?
