I see so many types of trading jobs. Does anyone know of a reference guide to all the different types of trading jobs out there? Prop, buy/sell side, IB etc. TIA B
I dont think so. Buy side tends to have a long term fundamental focus. The sell side is very short term with market making activity being one example. IMO it is the sell side that will be automated - most already is.
thats for the people executing the trades. the guys making the decisions will always be around. so execution and market making will be more and more automated. while portfolio managers will remain the same.
I agree with you there...PMs will be in need but you better have a CFA and a Master's from a top notch school.
