I couldn't log in for the whole of yesterday. Tws kept telling me my password is incorrect. But everything is ok today. Anyone know what cause the problem? My password is correct as i am able to log into my account management.
Having the same problem just now. All of sudden the TWS goes dead. It said Connection failed even though my cable connection is doing fine. I tried to killed it. And when I log back in, to my surprise it said I was SHORT something?! WTF?! I had to cover for $200 loss. Doh! I never even transmitted the order. I was just clicking and waiting for the right price. Apparently it went through when it crashed. Lesson if it starts to behave funny, clear everything on the order page even though you havent' sent the order! You never know what positions you'll be stuck with.
After updating my TWS this morning, I was suddenly logged off after about 30 minutes (My internet connection was working fine). I was unable to log back in so I started the Browser Based TWS and it is running OK.
If anyone experiencing this problem is willing to send me their username and/or account # and the date/time that their connection was dropped, I will be happy to try to trouble-shoot the problem for them.
my TWS got disconnected at about 9:56 this morning while I had an open position and I could not get connected until 10:02 My internet connection was fine, during that period I also tried to open TWS on my back up dial up internet using a different computer and was unable to do so fwiw..
Forgot to mention during that 5 or 6 minutes ES went 2.75 points against my position! That said I still think IB is one of the best brokers out there!!
