I have not experienced that error message. However, I believe that it relates to the account setup. An IB account has an "securities segment" and a "commodity segment". You may want to verify that your paper trading account is correctly set up to trade futures.
i can't set up the paper trading account to trade or not futures... i think the problem is due to account migration after brexit
already done. they told me this is a known problem and they try to solve it. i wanted to know if other clients have the same problem
I have the same problem since account migration for IBIE. I have contacted support two days ago and they didn't even replied up to this moment. Also, it's not possible to make currency conversions in real account.
I have the same problem on my new paper account. My old paper account was not migrated, so I had to create a new one and this error appears when I wanted to buy futures.
Got the same problem with a new paper account after migration. Hopefully it is resolved quickly by IB...
I had to create a new paper account as well. I have just tested and it is still not working. No replies from IB...
Some more information, to avoid people to be taken by surprise: I had to reconfigure some of my trading permissions and also my customized statements and its delivery method. FX Conversion still not working...
