I'm starting to do this as well, good to know smarter people than me do the same thing. Do you also have a "shit-hitting-the-fan" stop?
I don't know about that ... Haven't found an edge swing trading with or without stops I have a mental stop at pre defined level and I will get out. However, if there is a gap through it, I will try to assess situation and possibly try to add to position ... Basically trying to use my excess BP to bring my cost down. As you know, gaps often fill on the same day. When this doesn't work, your loss is greater but not by much more. The problem I encountered is when the whole market gapped ... A few of these convinced me that there is got to be a better way. Once I find it, I will let you know
