You want the run time environment as the minimum package that will support TWS etc Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
The IB feed is totally messed up again. As soon as volatility increases, it freezes for a few seconds. Almost as bad as eSignal used to be in fast markets.... I'd appreciate if someone from IB would comment this issue....
Kiwi, Thanks for the tip. Downloaded JRE 1.6, connect to IB, it's not my trading time, will see tomorrow how this new version of java performs in SGXNK and HSI markets.
FWIW my TWS is working great into this dump. Quotes and trades (a LOT of 'em!) are going thru fine. Good trading to all.
IB must have done something. No freeze ups yet. I'll sending test orders and cancelling and it's very fast.
Are all these freezes in Java version of TWS? What about their windows version? I have just opened account with IB and want to trade via their windows BookTrader. Anyone experienced freezes there? I have a separate charting package, and only planning to use TWS for trade execution. Also, are there any advantages of using ButtonTrader or Zero Line trade over BookTrader? Thanks, redduke
