TWS and a router - different settings?

  1. I just added a d-link router to my setup. Do I need to configure TWS differently or do any port forwarding?

The reason I ask is that I'm noticing some hesitation in the TWS quotes.

    thanks

Compare speeds with and without the router; they should be the same. If not, get a different brand.

  4. turns out the MTU settings needed to be changed from 1500(default) to 1492 on the WAN settings page of the D-Link configuration pg.

Apparently the data packet size was a little too large and stalling every once in awhile.

    fwiw.

That's strange since your packet size is set by the OS, not an individual application. I think your fix had nothing to do with TWS and that the delays were there before. You just happened to notice it with TWS.

  6. It wasn't a tws specific bug it was a problem with the d-link router. And yes, I just noticed it with tws running as tws would stall when the market volumes jumped.
