You are surprised by the failure of governmental regulators?

The list is endless. SEC and Madoff. The SEC was told about Madoff on several occasions and failed miserably.

  4. Another front? Every front! The Right Wing fought tooth and nail, and continues to do so, to thwart Obama from doing everything he can to keep his campaign promises, the basis on which he had been elected by the majority of Americans. The Right Wingers love their country so much that they'd rather destroy it first.

  6. Under the law that established the reserve, called the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund, the operators of the offshore rig face no more than $75 million in liability for the damages that might be claimed by individuals, companies or the government, although they are responsible for the cost of containing and cleaning up the spill.

The fund was set up by Congress in 1986 but not financed until after the Exxon Valdez ran aground in Alaska in 1989. In exchange for the limits on liability, the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 imposed a tax on oil companies, currently 8 cents for every barrel they produce in this country or import.

The tax adds roughly one tenth of a percent to the price of oil. Another source of revenue is fines and civil penalties from companies that spill oil.

    -------------------

How much revenue @ 8 cents a barrel been collected since 1990 and where'd the money go?

  7. Nationalize their asses. Hire all the same people, even pay them the same return profits to the treasury. Its the only civilized thing to do; to eliminate the cabal.

    Which promises?

    That he would close Gittmo?

Not raise taxes, not one dime mind you, on anyone making less than $200,000?

That his HC plan would not add to the deficit?

That UE would not go over 8%?

That he would restore America to greatness?

    :D

  9. That's because many Right Wingers believe the country is so far gone that the only way to rebuild it is to burn it to the ground and start all over again. You don't build the upper levels of a house with a foundation that is rotting.

I happen to agree with them.

  10. What is the percentage of married people who cheat on their spouse? Close to 75% or so?

They made a vow to their spouse...

Is Obama doing the best he can with what he has to deal with?

You really think John McSame or any of the other clowns would be doing much differently?
