It's like driving past a bad car wreck, morbid curiosity makes people turn their heads to catch a glimpse.

    Sheen's on a path of self-destruction.

I respect his honesty. I don't respect his wealth or his fame. Certainly it is fair to respect certain aspects of a person's personality, and still not like the guy. I don't respect that he feels the need to 'boast' about banging porn stars and the like.

I also think it's telling that Sheen says he 'put billions' into the execs hands.

As if it's his show. He wrote and produced and was the sole reason for its success. What an insult to everyone else involved, not least of which the other actors. I never watched the show. I tried a couple of times and I thought it was god awful lame. But maybe he should be thankful to the execs for putting millions into his pockets. What a douche

  4. What exactly was he being honest about that specifically earned your respect? Serious question. Frankly, for his sake, I hope he was NOT being honest when he said he was not under the influence during his recent interviews. If that was his sober state, then I think he may well be past the point of no return.

And how is he necessarily being notably honest, and perhaps more so than any other more civil media personality? Loud and obnoxious, maybe, but I don't see where he has any particular corner on honesty. Just my opinion.

  5. You can't see how Charlie Sheen is being more honest than any other celebrity? He's being honest about his lifestyle and the way he thinks about himself and others. That is a quality I respect.

What I don't respect, is the typical, politically correct responses that almost EVERY OTHER CELEBRITY gives on a constant basis. The cookie-cutter response "I struggled with substance abuse in the past, I'm sorry, but I'm receiving treatment and hope to move forward." Only to find out a couple months down the road nothing changed. Rinse and repeat. You don't think many, if not most, other celebrities are full of themselves and think of themselves as being on a much higher pedestal than us common folk? I bet they do, only nobody else has the balls to say it.

Think what you want about Charlie Sheen and his lifestyle, it certainly isn't for everyone, but he's honest about it. That's a quality I respect in a man.

  6. Personally, I don't automatically hold in high esteem those who hoist their dirty laundry on a flagpole for the world to see and savor. TMI. And, all else being equal, I am more inclined to have respect for those who never went down that road in the first place. There is little if any contrition in his "honesty," not that he specifically needs to display contrition as far as I'm concerned. But the man is positively reveling in the notoriety of the mess that he made. He fucked up big and he is wearing a shit-eating grin. And this is something you look up to? Okay.

  7. Man you are so judgemental it makes me cringe.

I never said I respected the things Charlie Sheen does, although I don't condemn him either. Live and let live. I said I respect his honesty and his "I don't give a fuck what anybody thinks of me" attitude.

If this is Charlie Sheen clean and sober, please get back on the drugs. Fast.

  10. Sorry, I continue to disagree. This is a man who placed a lot of lives in limbo and uncertainty, and all because of his "honesty" and his rugged individualism. Basically, here is a middle-aged guy living out an adolescent "fuck you" fantasy at considerable expense to those around him. If that is what you respect, then by all means, respect away. Meanwhile, I'm not allowed to disagree with your opinion lest I be considered judgmental?
