I don't think anyone was saying that the Dems were aiding pedos" as much as folks were saying that Musk is cleaning up that area of twitter. Something both people on the right AND left should like. But instead, no praise for this from the left.
I don't really care about Musk I do care about Twitter undermining democracy and promoting hate & violence in our communities -- a growing problem under Musk. Coupled with the significant increase in child exploitation material since Musk purchased the platform as an additional problem. Musk's approach of using automation based on CSAM hashtags and automatic picture identification to ban accounts on Twitter for child sexual exploitation is not doing well. The purveyors of this material have quickly moved onto new hashtags. The picture detection appears to be banning the accounts of parents posting normal & appropriate pictures of their children -- and the user quickly finds there is no human in Twitter to appeal their account suspension to under Musk. You can see how poorly Musk's automatic picture identification is doing recently -- based on all the photos which Twitter lists as "sensitive", etc. and requires the user to click a button to show it. After which the photo does not show anything in the automated claim about it. To be fair, Musk inherited an existing child exploitation material problem when he purchased Twitter -- and the Twitter team was barely keeping up before -- unfortunately Musk's first step was to fire most of the people who specialized in cleaning CSAM (child sexual abuse material) content off of Twitter. As noted by many independent monitors and media outlets -- the child exploitation material on Twitter has increased greatly under Musk. He is not doing an effective job at eliminating it. His efforts during the past weekend managed to effectively fail to target currently active accounts posting this material -- and instead targeted inactive accounts using old CSAM hashtags (which is fine but does not fix the current issues) and also misidentified pictures in normal appropriate accounts. The claimed banning of over 44,000 CSAM accounts over the weekend is nearly meaningless -- due to the poor & misguided targeting. Musk is not deliberately enabling more child porn, if there is more. It is a side effect of chaos going with the transition of buying the company. The previous regime had a major problem ignoring child porn which it refused to fix, refer to the multitude of lawsuits Elon inherited as a result. Extend the trajectory Elon's addressing the issue out over a short period of time and the improvements will easily exceed the pervert paradise that existed before and over at Facebook. A lot of those people he moved out or quit themselves belong to that "genre" that enabled it. And yes there are pervies exploiting Twitter's vulnerability during the transition chaos, but as I said, it does not come from Elon's complacency. I give Elon an 80% chance of improving the kiddie porn and trafficking problem over time. I give the last regime 5% chance if they stayed in charge, and that 5% would only come from their being under court order from all the lawsuits.
