As I have said before, if you are going through a corporate re-org the first thing you want to do is move out the Debbie Downers such as you. Yup. Elon has problems. He is not going to die and will die much richer than you will. In the meantime, who wants to work at Twitter and who does not is subject to change over time- as the layoffs in Silicion Valley progress. You are right though, Silicon Valley employees who want to work from home or come in and use the wine bar and get a quick aromatherapy treatment at the office are not going to work for Elon. Elon needs to move more of them out to free up the cash to afford people who want to work. Some of those clowns who are fired will be working at Arby's before long. ‘It was not sustainable or real’: Tech layoffs approach Great Recession levels https://www.marketwatch.com/story/i...s-approach-great-recession-levels-11669741730
The problem with Musk is not that he laid off employees -- the problem is that he failed to follow the Federal WARN act while doing so. Note all the other tech companies carefully follow the WARN act. Musk is going to be taken to court by both employees and federal/state government entities over his avoidance of following the law. And this is a battle he will not win. What is interesting is that Washington state law makes Musk personally liable for damages for Twitter not following the law -- this is a surprise. He may have to pay money out of his personal pocket rather than corporate coffers -- even though it may take years to wind through the courts. Musk's recent efforts to force the employees to arbitration rather than the courts for not following federal law will not go well -- according to most legal analysts . Violating the WARN act is clearly in the purview of the courts and arbitration agreements do not apply.
