It's official: GWB has officially replaced Matt Gaetz with Elon Musk. Refer to the following for more on how this happens: symptom substitution in the classical psychoanalytic theory of Sigmund Freud, the development of a symptom to replace one that has cleared up as a result of treatment. It is said to occur if the unconscious impulses and conflicts responsible for the original symptom are not dealt with effectively. Symptom substitution is often used as an argument against therapies aimed at symptom removal alone, as in behavior therapy and some forms of hypnotherapy....
For all the Trump & Musk fans worried about a chip in the vax. We have something new for you. Elon Musk Offers To Take Morning Off From Sh*tposting To Put Chip In Your Brain https://www.wonkette.com/elon-musk-...ff-from-sh-tposting-to-put-chip-in-your-brain Good morning! Elon Musk wants to surgically implant an iPhone in your brain. Hey, wait! Where are you going? This is going to be the best thing since sliced Wonder Bread. Would Uncle Elon ever steer you wrong? Yesterday the tech CEO hosted a "show and tell" event at the headquarters of his Neuralink company. He assembled the crowd to tout plans to seek FDA approval to implant microchips in the brains of IRL human beings within the next six months, based on supposed success in monkeys. Because who wouldn't want to get brain surgery after watching a primate playing pong using only the power of its brain? Behold the future! Electrodes you can tape to your head so you can "think" text into your computer tower will surely top everyone's Christmas list! To be fair, Musk promises that the technology will soon allow the blind to see and restore the ability to walk to someone with a severe spinal cord injury, which would be an amazing gift to humanity. The problem is that Musk is pretty often full of shit. In 2019, he said he aimed to start clinical trials in humans by the end of 2020. In 2021, he promised to start human trials this year. Now he says he's handed some of his paperwork in to the FDA, and any day now we'll wake up to find that it's Infrastructure week for real. Musk has promised local governments from California to Ontario that his Boring Company could "solve" their traffic problems with underground tunnels and autonomous vehicles, only to ghost them, sometimes killing off other public works projects in the process. The only actual Boring Company tunnel is a demonstration loop in Las Vegas where you can pay someone to drive you in a 1.6 mile circle. He promised to produce affordable electric cars for the masses. The cheapest, lowest end Tesla clocks in at $47,000. And we still haven't colonized the moon — not that there appears to be an enormous appetite for that kind of thing. But perhaps most important, Musk appears to spend most of his time losing his goddamn mind on Twitter — a company he was forced to buy after negotiating a disastrous acquisition deal, and which he appears to be incinerating in a spectacular $44 billion bonfire. Every single day he logs on to demonstrate that he doesn't understand the First Amendment. Or computer code. Or labor law. He plays footsie with Nazi sympathizers, routinely promotes fake news, and is generally fucking gross. Plus he tells stupid lies, like yesterday when he picked a fight with Apple by falsely claiming the company had halted advertising on the platform and was about to boot Twitter out of the app store, only to walk it back today as a misunderstanding. But most of all, his management style could be described as erratic at best. He fires half the workforce, only to come groveling trying to hire some of them back. Dozens of seasoned executives nope out at once. He's missing payroll in the UK and Germany. He's imposing loyalty tests on employees, even as he scours the Slack and office email and fires people who've criticized him. Not to put too fine a point on it, but none of this bespeaks a company whose CEO is someone you can trust to tell the truth, much less start monkeying around in your cranial cavity. And perhaps we all have Twitter brain (it me!), but that doesn't mean we're going to line up to the let the "Chief Twit" perform brain surgery on us. Nor does it seem like a company run by Elon Musk is a great place to work. And since the Neuralink event was billed as a recruiting event for top talent, it bears pointing out, as Reuters does, that Musk already approached Synchron, a competitor company in August, after screaming at employees to BRAIN CHIP FASTER failed to produce the desired result. Ever heard of Synchron? Probably not, since that company's CEO doesn't spend all his time begging for adulation on social media. Instead, that guy managed to get regulatory approval in 2021, and implanted one of the company's chips in a person this year. (Well, probably not personally.) But, hey, look at this pig on a treadmill!
Musk freely allows his right-wing extremist friends to freely eliminate accounts of lefties on Twitter including governors, leading civil rights advocates, and others. At this point, it is becoming clear that this was Elon's intent. Extremists Organizing To Purge Reported 5,000 Progressives From Twitter With Fake Complaints Right-wingers are out to scrub Twitter of everyone but them, with Elon Musk's help. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/twit...t-false-complaints_n_638951a1e4b07115f8587fa6 Right-wing extremists are working in concert to file false complaints in order to “purge” a reported list of 5,000 people from Twitter, including progressive journalists, Democrats, celebrities and researchers. An early hint about the operation was revealed last month in “Right Side News” posts on the right-wing social media platform Telegram. Organizers have falsely claimed that the targeted Twitter profiles are “antifa” (a shorthand term for anti-fascist activists) or “followers of antifa.” The Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club, a defense group for “marginalized communities,” called the hit list an attempt to “deplatform the left.” The group posted a list on Twitter of 5,000 names it said have been targeted on Telegram. Some of those listed include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Auschwitz Museum, singer Lil Nas X, investigative reporter Luke O’Brien and at least one HuffPost reporter. Though many are prominent progressives, it’s a mystery why some are on the list, such as Britney Spears. Among those thrown off Twitter shortly after Elon Musk took over was Chad Loder, an anti-fascist researcher who identified a Proud Boy member involved in the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, and journalist Vishal Pratap Singh, who has reported on far-right protests in Southern California. Loder attributed his Twitter exile to an “organized mass reporting campaign” against left-wing Twitter users coordinated by a right-wing group called Zanting, reported Business Insider. The group has published detailed instructions on Substack on how to falsely report people. It includes a long list of accounts with Loder’s Twitter profile address at the top. Loder shared screenshots with Insider of messages on Telegram with thousands of followers, including Proud Boys and QAnon disciples, celebrating his suspension. Journalists who had never been warned or punished for breaking any Twitter rules have suddenly been suspended or banned from Twitter based on false accusations, they told HuffPost. Author and sports journalist Teri Thompson, former sports editor of the New York Daily News, told HuffPost she received an email Thursday from Twitter informing her that her account was suspended for “violating Twitter rules against ‘platform manipulation and spam.’” She was told she could not “artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Twitter.” Not only was she completely perplexed about her “violation,” Thompson said, she was “confused how this reaches the level of a Twitter black list.” She has been on Twitter 14 years without facing any previous disciplinary action. It’s also not clear if she was on a hit list or had simply annoyed someone who mobilized false complaints against her. Senior members of Twitter’s trust and safety team before Musk took over were aware of the false reporting campaign against Loder — which is a violation of Twitter’s policies — and had plans to address it, Loder said. But key members of the team have now quit or been fired. “There’s nobody minding the shop anymore,” Loder said. Twitter’s trust and safety team is now “maybe 5% of the original staff, so what’s happening is mass-reporting is allowed to succeed because there’s no one double checking whether these reports are valid or not.” The crackdowns over false complaints are ironic given new Twitter owner Musk’s vow to protect “free speech” on the platform. He has, meanwhile, reinstated the accounts of former President Donald Trump and Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West. Trump had been “permanently” suspended for glorifying violence before, during and after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Ye’s antisemitic messages were blocked. Yet Ye told Alex Jones in his podcast on Thursday: “I like Hitler,” and “I ... love Nazis.” Loder said Musk’s so-called free speech campaign is actually about bringing back “violent neo-Nazi accounts.” He has “thrown his lot in with far-right extremists and they have his ear,” Loder added.
So Musk failed to follow through in providing Twitter employees their termination packages. Hardly surprising that he is now being sued for it. At this rate, former Twitter employees may end up owning Musk and his sink.
This lawsuit is gonna be fun... even more fun than Musk failing to pay his European employees their November paychecks.
Oh pooh, you, as usual. are self-stimulating from your low-T, Department of Motor Vehicles employee perspective. Elon is the richest guy in the world, he will take massive hits today, yesterday, and for years to come and still be standing and in pretty good financial shape, while you whimper over in the corner and cheer on little lawsuits and lefty media articles. GREAT TIME TO BE AT TWITTER IF YOU HAVE SKILLS AND WORK ETHIC.
Interesting that the other news in the tech media in recent days is that recruiters for Musk's Twitter 2.0 are unable to recruit technically capable people because no one with the proper qualifications & experience is willing to work for the company.
