  1. This is what you get as a subscriber (below).

Not saying there is any value there. Just sayin what you get.

Maybe they have an active forum there in the background and some loyalists. Don't know. I just do the hit and run reading of the satire articles or the headlines anyway.

I don't use twitter either but there is so much reposting of twitter tweets and posts everywhere it is almost like being there.

    Ditto for Fakebook.

  2. There is a lot to unpack here in this article.

Elon may very well end out as roadkill but he is fighting back in an area which is a direct threat to Google and Apple and their tight control over apps and then their taking a cut. I have always been upfront about how Elon fucked up and has the wagons circles around him with all the lefty media and the Biden administration threatening him and Congress threatening him and the advertisers colluding against him.

Fine. But that's child's play compared to being a direct threat to Google and Apple and fighting back in a way that may similarly (as his opponents are doing) put the regulators on to their monopolistic arses.

Go for it Elon. If you fail, it will be failing in a fight worth having. Let the blood flow.
Let the pussies whine, including the ones here. They are meant to whine and moan and ultimately keel over at their desk like a Department of Motor Vehicles employee.

Musk Plans to Monetise Twitter, But not Via App Stores

Musk can take a leaf out of Spotify’s book. The streaming company has refused to pay the 30% tax levied by Apple and are offering their premium subscription on the web for USD9.99.

    From Wiki....
"The Conversation published research by academics at the Ohio State University in August 2019 that found that people regularly mistook satirical reports from The Babylon Bee, The Colbert Report, The Onion, and others for genuine news. They found that "stories published by the Bee were among the most shared factually inaccurate content in almost every survey we conducted". They also found that both Republicans and Democrats mistook articles from The Babylon Bee as news, but Republicans were more likely to do so.[40]......"

    From Wiki:
"In October 2020, a satirical news story by The Babylon Bee claiming that Twitter had been shut down to protect Joe Biden from negative coverage was retweeted by then-U.S. President Donald Trump, who, according to some journalists, seemed to not realize the article was parody and condemned the fabricated incident described in the story as a case of leftist censorship......"

".....In March 2018, The Babylon Bee published an article quipping that CNN was using an industrial-sized washing machine to "spin" the news. Snopes fact-checked the article, rating it "false"......"

So Musk is allowing ALL banned accounts back on Twitter. Will he allow the banned ANTIFA accounts which urged people to burn Tesla facilities? Or will he only allow right-wing accounts back on that urge attacks on government officials and the burning of offices.

Elon Musk on reports of Antifa wanting to burn down Tesla: “concerning.”
    https://www.teslarati.com/elon-musk-antifa-burn-tesla-concerning/

Elon Musk called a report on Antifa wanting to burn down Tesla “concerning.” The Tesla CEO responded to a Rebel News report on screenshots of calls to action. Andy Ngô, editor-at-large for the ThePost Millenial, shared screenshots of the calls to action by the now-suspended Twitter account @AshRedacted. The account posted links to Tesla locations and encouraged followers to add their own.

“Tonight in Portland! Every city, every town! Show up at your local Tesla dealerships in protest of Elon Musk!” one screenshot read with a photo of a burning Tesla. Ngô noted that the extremists wanted to get revenge on Elon Musk for suspending their accounts on Twitter.

The Data Show Twitter Is Far From Dying
The timeline below shows the estimated total daily tweets (blue) and tweeting users (orange) from Jan. 1, 2012, through Nov. 8, 2022. Peaking in July 2013, Twitter’s popularity slowly declined over the years, until pandemic lockdowns led to skyrocketing growth – a surge that was wiped away just six months later, when Twitter’s 2020 election anti-misinformation efforts went astray. As Musk’s Twitter takeover became more likely over the last few months, daily tweet volume actually increased and has remained stable in the weeks since his acquisition.
