People should note some of the Tweets are from Parody accounts rather than actual Twitter employees. Alex Cohen is parody -- who apparently has many recent jobs.
The funny part is that Musk's managers earlier had instructions to base their technical staff layoff decisions on the number of code commits. Musk ordered this while not understanding the difference between software architects and software programmers. In companies like Twitter, the software architects are the senior people who have been around who possess all the institutional knowledge and provide guidance to the programmers. Most architects are not typically doing the programming and code commits. The programming and code commits are bring done by more junior employees -- the software programmers. Thus when Musk laid off the technical staff based on their number of code commits -- he basically fired most of the people who knew what the hell was going on. Musk followed up on this by demanding all the remaining employees click "Yes" that they would work like slaves for an egomaniac or be terminated. 80% of the platform programming staff basically quit according to most sources --- this leaves the question of who is left in the company today to report to Musk in a conference room to show off their code commits.
Musk made quick work of making that twitter thread disappear. All speech is free, but some speech is freer than all other speech.
