After firing 4,400 contractors and most of the senior staff, Musk now complains that he has "too much work" at Twitter. If only some visionary genius could have foreseen it. Musk says he has ‘too much on plate’ amid reports of more Twitter job cuts https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/nov/14/elon-musk-twitter-job-cuts-tesla-takeover
Elon Musk says free employee lunches at Twitter HQ were costing more than $400 per meal because 'almost no one' was in the office https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-says-free-employee-114140562.html
Musk's glaring cluelessness is amazing. Twitter users with 2-factor authentication said they were locked out of their accounts soon after Elon Musk said he was ridding the site of 'bloatware https://www.businessinsider.com/elo...or-authentication-locked-out-accounts-2022-11
Former Twitter executive Tracy Hawkins, who ran the meal program at the firm, joined the discussion and accused him of lying. She states the lunches cost $20 to $25 per day and provides information to back up her claims. So in recent days, Musk has laid off nearly all the contractors at Twitter - one week after laying off the employees. He did this -- just like he did the employees -- by just cutting off their access and not communicating. These contractors don't even know if they will get their last paycheck. Many of these contractors were responsible for moderation of Twitter around the world, with 4400 of them gone there is effectively no moderation on Twitter. Of course these large scale cuts have left Twitter lacking not only moderation causing a rise in hate speech causing advertisers including Mondelez, the Oreo maker, to flee --- but left Twitter without the necessary technical leaders to maintain the platform even in the short run. There is a rising expectation that the entire Twitter platform will have a large scale outage sooner rather than later. Here’s how a Twitter engineer says it will break in the coming weeks One insider says the company’s current staffing isn’t able to sustain the platform. https://www.technologyreview.com/20...ng-weeks/?mc_cid=411fcdaba8&mc_eid=ca37a1e7bc Scott Galloway Predicts Elon Musk’s Bizarre Behavior Will Result in Twitter Going ‘Down’ in the Next Week: He ‘Has Absolutely No Guard Rails’ https://www.mediaite.com/news/scott...e-next-week-he-has-absolutely-no-guard-rails/
Elon fires engineer who apparently does not know which company he works for, who owns it, and that dissing Elon on twitter is unacceptable. This is true of any business and nothing to do with freedom of speech. If you work for a local construction company, you should not be online saying your company and your boss suck. Move that kind of toxic trash out. Just as he did. It is message to other employees too. If you cannot get on board, you will be moved out. And yes, Elon will need to hire some employees and hire back contractors. But they most likely will not be the previous ones. Also, show up for work- not some at-home bullshit. Pay for your own fucking lunch, and get with the program or you will be moved out. Elon should be offering sign-on bonuses for certain employee positions and paying for it by moving more of the whiny little bitches out. Musk has reached the level of Twitter management where he asks random Twitter users how his own platform works, instead of the engineers who... oh, right...
Of course Musk fires his engineers when they give him feedback.
