Something pushed republicans over the edge circa Barack Obama winning the presidency. I can’t quite put my finger on it though…

Hmm? What was so different about Barack Obama???

Cuddles, Tony Stark and themickey like this.

  2. His lefty ideology.

We see the hole you want us to step into but look no further than Clarence Thomas for an example of how important ideology and protecting the Constitution are to conservatives. Conservatives place him on a pedestal. This runs contrary to the skin color thing that you and your ilk are always pushing and trying to use against republicans.

Looks to me like Elon bought Twitter to kill it... and quickly.
    So easy to answer that...

Obama had not earned any merit. That is to say, he was a worthless "community organizer".. whatever the fuck that is and never built anything, earned any money or exhibited what was once called "merit".

He was just a known drug user admitted to top universities for his racial attributes and groomed by the leftist biosphere who felt they had to hide his grades, hide his ancestry and hide his very birthplace to atone for their warped sense of history which amounted to political reparations and leftist self-loathing.

He achieved nothing in office with the exception of doing what George Bush would not/could not do which was executing OBL. I am grateful for that act. But the rest is pure horse shit.

Clinton could have had Osama Bin Laden killed. There was a Predator drone with missiles pointed to an isolated hut with Osama Bin Laden inside. The operator of the drone asked multiple times to fire his missiles but, higher ups will not give him the order to fire. So, he was forced to stand down. GW Bush could also, have gotten Osama Bin Laden when he was in the Tora Bora caves. They should have had our special forces dig him out or buried him under the rubble. The US could have easily used fighter jets to fire missiles, more cruise missiles from US warships to hammer Tora Bora until it was completely destroyed. Taliban could not have stopped the US operations. It would have also, saved US military lives instead, of a prolonged war and the ridiculous, nation building and building up the Afghan army. GW Bush could have evacuated Afghanistan after getting Bin Laden because that was the goal coming in. Instead, they bombed the caves, did little damage and never even came close to Osama Bin Laden. Then, the US military had to fight with one hand tied behind their backs with numerous restrictions on what they can do to kill the Taliban. Pakistan dictated to the US what it can or cannot do. They also, coddled and hid Bin Laden from the US.

    LOL...

Elon Musk's takeover was so poorly planned the company got locked out of its own Twitter account, report says

    • Elon Musk's first weeks as owner of Twitter have been mired in controversy and changes to the site.
    • During the chaotic handoff, login details for the official @Twitter account weren't shared, Platformer reported.
    • Twitter staff were locked out of the company's own social account for 12 days, according to Platformer.
During Elon Musk's chaotic Twitter takeover, login details for the company's official account weren't shared with new leadership, according to reporting by Platformer.

The $44 billion acquisition of the social media company has been disorganized, according to employees and experts alike, with reports of mass layoffs that were in some cases reversed and employees left "in limbo" about their working status.

Sources told Platformer, a newsletter run Casey Newton, former editor of The Verge, the login details for the official @Twitter social account were among the details lost in the fray.

The Twitter team finally accessed its account on Wednesday, after about 12 days, Platformer reported, though the account has not posted since October 13.

Musk's purchase of the social media platform has been mired in controversy for months leading to the acquisition that was completed two weeks ago. In the days since, advertisers and influential users have been leaving the platform, citing concerns over rising hate speech and changes to the user experience.

Among the recent inconsistent changes to Twitter — including the rolled-back layoffs — Musk has also implemented new rules about parody accounts and waffled back and forth on if an $8 Twitter Blue subscription will give users a verification badge — a feature that was suspended today — and whether or not a gray "official" check would replace the old verification system.

Musk and representatives for Twitter did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment.

  7. You are quick to buy into the narrative of the article which is that the access to the accounts was a result of "poor planning."

In fact it looks like an act of deliberate sabotage or failure of the seller to provide basic, expected deliverables that are part of any takeover.

Let's follow-up with what is going on in Twitter. It is not only the main Twitter account which the new Musk management failed to get credentials from fired employees for --- but other Twitter accounts which actually earn Twitter money like the gaming account which has over a million followers. These accounts are all silent now.

Obviously not getting credentials from the employees -- who you locked out of your systems on Thursday night and then failed to communicate with --- is a fiasco. None of these fired employees have received their termination paperwork yet --- effectively they have been ghosted by Musk's management team. You at least think Musk's managers would have reached out to ask "Hey, can you give us the credentials" -- but not even this has happened. It appears that Musk's managers don't even know which employees were responsible for the various Twitter accounts which enabled the company to earn revenue.

Of course, major advertisers are still leaving in droves. This includes Volkswagen and all of their associated brands such as Audi, Porsche, etc. At this point it may be easier to count the few advertisers Musk has left.
