Don’t underestimate Meta. Yes the “virtual world” is stupid bullshit for gamers and dweebs but he is also building virtual computing and that ain’t no joke. Once you understand that machine or phone you’re using today full of chips and processors will some day be a simple terminal to the “meta verse” or whatever it will become then you’ll get it. Would I invest in Meta today, no. Will they come roaring back - yep.
No, you re-phrased my words in a low-integrity manner so I do not wish to discuss further on this. Elon has handled parts of this which have resembled a trainwreck but you are quoting me as saying that "is taking measures to run it into the ground as quickly as possible." As if it is an intentional goal he is trying accomplish rather than problems with the way he is handling it working a longer term restructure that involves pain and chaos in the beginning as is true of many start-ups or takeovers. But you re-phrased my words in a low-life manner so I will stop here.
it's all fun and games to mock, but I've seen industrial designs in virtual reality and artists/sculptors working on said project (think clay model). If you can have a team collaborating on a virtual project like that, you can expand your workforce worldwide. Virtual art expos and concerts are a bit out there for me, but not long ago home theaters were too. Harvard/MIT can teach chem lab courses w/simulated reactions, you can teach machining and surgery to some kid in India w/no tooling.
Possible but the metaverse stuff will be a drag on the rest of their business or stockholders will let him know that he needs to place some bounds on the percentage of the overall business that it will be. He will have pressure to spin it off too. Not going to prescribe the solution. Just saying the bottomless pit thing is not going to go on forever without continuing to damage the overall picture.
So tell us what is the business value of running a Metaverse ("virtual world") which will only attract a small number of gamers and like-minded people. A few businesses and people will try it out as a novelty and not see any value after a while & drop it. Of course technology is built into everything these days; phone, watches, applies, home network assistant devices (Ring, Alexa etc.) all contain powerful processing capability, But how does this translate into a Meta visions. There are much better ways to get value out of these computing appliances by actually improving the real lives of people (and their business/work needs). Most people do not want to live (or work) in a virtual Metaverse world -- in fact it seems to almost be a nightmare vision of mankind's future.
Just providing my take on your statement. If you don't like how others read your commentary then please be more careful in your phrasing. However the bottom line is that the picture is not pretty for Musk -- let's start with the financial situation. Can you tell us how Musk can structure the Twitter deal and future to be financial successful. As outlined earlier it is basically a financial fiasco from Day 1. Twitter will be the communication platform for Starlink Starlink now can override a Government blocking the internet....Twitter will be the platform to use the internet on that system, like Google is for the territorial internet Twitter will be the google of space. It will be used for the mission to the Moon and next the manned mission to Mars and to help build the new civilization on Mars....will the Government allow white people to move to Mars and help repopulate it??
Well... If you can dismiss all non blue account (or whatever it's called) in settings, you get civilized discussions. If media wants to amplify the shit talkers, it's on us to switch off. Soap boxes become untenable when anyone and everyone is able to spew. From lonesome mentally challenged, bullies, smart asses or the manipulative groups pushing agendas, the idealistic space is easily overwhelmed and turns off the great majority looking to exchange ideas.
uh why butthurt.... just pointing out that it is not freeloading it is how social media operates. It is left open and free to get more postings and more clicks so you can charge more for ad revenue. I can explain it in crayon if you like..
