I think all of this makes for an entertaining business story but, yes, it is important to keep in mind that this is just a bullshit company that would be backfilled in various ways if it fell off the cliff tomorrow. Ditto for Fakebook/Meta. Zuckerberg is running a full blown disaster over there too. Stock is down and he is running the company into the ground by bleeding major cash over into his pet metacrap project which no one else cares about. People begin to act like someone is unplugging their heart-lung machine or something if they mess with Twitter of Fakebook. Nope. I don't think that is a license though for the government to collude to drive someone out of business for political reasons. I think one can more or less not give a give a fig about a company but still side with the owner against witch hunts.
So what you are saying is that Elon Musk greatly overpaid for a company that effectively has no societal value and limited business value --- and Elon is taking measures to run it into the ground as quickly as possible. For example appearing to do his best to chase his most active users away from the platform while not addressing the concerns of advertisers who are about to desert in mass at the first sign of moderation easing that will allow extremists to return to Twitter. No different than what Zuck is doing over at Meta with his disastrous no-value metaverse vision -- where he is pouring money like mad down a hole that will return little value -- instead of focusing on enhancing Facebook to enhance revenue and hold onto users.
Post the part where I said "Elon is taking measures to run it into the ground" and we will go from there. No crabwalks please.
Do you have any evidence that he is not running Twitter into the ground? Let's cite the evidence since he took over: The N word being used all over Twitter The return of extremists posting with limited moderation. The plans to layoff 25% of employees Unreasonable demands which undermines security and stability of the product (e.g. get this new feature in place by November 7th or you are all terminated). Advertisers making plans to leave Twitter if content moderation flounders. Yeah.... and this is a business he greatly overpaid for -- and effectively has no value unless Musk retains his top users and advertisers. As soon as you say ditto for Zuck at Meta/Facebook then you are making the case that Musk is running Twitter into the ground as well -- in a similar manner as Zuck is doing.

People are addicted...so we'll see, just a random sample (I realize there's likely as many saying "fuck me harder, take my money Elon!"): https://twitter.com/MeAndMyDogToo/status/1586832372850642944?s=20&t=fuMedZYMSdmXVjeuOlOdqg https://twitter.com/CoraCarmack/status/1586895477605367810?s=20&t=7eT4ip0RMdUFR0a4gj4WHg
No crabwalks. You post where I said he is taking measures to run it into the ground, as you said I did. And we will go from there. I am pretty sure that is not his goal nor is it up to you decide that that is his intent.
Stop crabwalking. Let's quote you - "Ditto for Fakebook/Meta. Zuckerberg is running a full blown disaster over there too." This implies immediately that Musk is running a full blown disaster effectively running the company into the ground just like Zuck. There is no other way to take your comment.
