Twitter and Musk

  1. I would prefer to see a real fight such as between Conor McGregor and Michelle Obama.

That would be a tough one to call.

Not only has Musk failed to pay the bonuses he promised the Twitter 2.0 employees after firing 80% of them --- but Musk fails to pay the rent on there offices. At this point the only competent employees who are at Twitter are the ones on H1-B Visas who are unable to leave the company and are stuck there. Of course, head-hunters have reported that it is nearly impossible to interest technical employees in working for Twitter. Nothing is going to change for the better under the new CEO.

Yep... Musk is a druggie who takes all sorts of psychedelics and other drugs. Go figure -- on the other hand this probably does not surprise anyone.

Elon Musk ‘takes ketamine to manage depression’
Tycoon has previously called for psychedelic drugs to be promoted as alternative to antidepressants
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/06/27/musk-takes-ketamine-to-manage-depression/

Elon Musk has told friends that he takes the drug ketamine to manage depression, according to a report.

The world’s richest person also takes doses of the psychedelic-like substance at parties, witnesses told the Wall Street Journal.

Mr Musk has previously called for psychedelics and ketamine to be promoted as an alternative to prescribed antidepressants, alongside many Silicon Valley supporters of the drug.

Ketamine is a controlled substance in the US and can only be legally administered by injection at a doctor’s office or clinic, largely as an anaesthetic.

Mr Musk has previously faced scrutiny after smoking marijuana on a podcast in 2018. The drug is legally sold in California, but federally illegal, raising questions about his rocket company SpaceX’s contracts with Nasa.

Mr Musk and SpaceX employees were subjected to regular drug tests after the incident, he has said.

Ketamine, widely known as a party drug, has exploded in use in recent years and more people are using the substance to treat depression, with clinics springing up around US cities.

Mr Musk has told people he “microdoses” the substance, according to the report. Microdosing – taking small amounts of a substance such as ketamine or LSD – is regularly promoted in Silicon Valley as a way to improve productivity or creativity or treat depression and anxiety.

Steve Jobs was open about his use of LSD, while Justin Zhu, the co-founder of marketing start-up Iterable, was fired as chief executive in 2021 for microdosing at work.

Mr Musk has espoused the benefits of ketamine in the past. Last year, he tweeted: “I’ve talked to many more people who were helped by psychedelics & ketamine than SSRIs and amphetamines,” he tweeted last year.

He has also said that “people should be open to psychedelics” and a longtime friend, David Marglin, has said that he has been on “mild exploratory journeys” with the billionaire.

On Tuesday, Mr Musk tweeted: “Zombifying people with SSRIs for sure happens way too much. From what I’ve seen with friends, ketamine taken occasionally is a better option.” Mr Musk did not respond directly to the Wall Street Journal report or to a request for comment.

There is a growing clinical interest in using ketamine to treat depression, with several private providers in the UK offering it, although it cannot be prescribed on the NHS. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, which approves drugs for use in the NHS, rejected a ketamine nasal spray last year.

Twitter 2.0 under Musk continues on its path of being glitchy, non-functional crap. Tell us how people can be suspended for three days for spamming when they haven't posted anything in weeks -- just another sad example of complete failure.

Twitter gets buggier: Followers don’t display, users restricted in error

Let's hear some more about Elon Musk. Would you want this unhinged, unethical idiot as your boss?

Elon Musk flies into 'demon mode' and 'rips employees apart', biographer reveals as he describes Twitter boss as rage-filled Jekyll and Hyde character who once 'chewed out' colleague two weeks after he lost a child
    • Walter Isaacson, who will release his biography in September, said Musk would often fly into a rage at employees during his early days at Twitter
    • The writer described the Tesla co-founder as 'brutal' with a 'real lack of empathy'
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...grapher-says-saw-Twitter-boss-demon-mode.html

Elon Musk's biographer, who spent two years observing the businessman day-to-day, claims he saw him go into 'demon mode' that frightened his workers.

Walter Isaacson, who will release his biography of Musk in September, said the billionaire could be like 'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' and once 'chewed out' an employee whose child had died two weeks earlier.

Isaacson, who observed Musk through the fraught days of his takeover of Twitter, told a Twitter Spaces event on Thursday that Musk had a 'maniacal sense of urgency' that frightened his employees.

The writer, who has also published biographies of Steve Jobs and Leonardo da Vinci, said Musk would often fly into a rage at employees during his early days at Twitter when he fired more than half the workforce.

'He'd go dark and I'd know that he was just going to rip that person apart,' Isaacson recalled.

'He is just brutal. The thing that I noticed is that once he finishes doing it — and it was never physical and it was almost done in a flat monotone — but he would just really attack people and then a few days later, if they absorbed the lesson, he'd forget about it,' Isaacson said.

'It would be as if he went from becoming Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde and then didn't even think that much or remember that much of how tough he had been on people,' he explained.

Isaacson reportedly described a scene where the social media executive, who had a 'real lack of empathy' verbally attacked an employee for making a mistake, despite the fact that they had lost a child two weeks earlier.

Musk's employees were left 'afraid to give him bad news' according to his biographer but that the Tesla co-founder once told him he viewed empathy towards his workers at the expense of company success as a form of 'egotism'.

The term 'demon mode' was coined by Musk's girlfriend, the music artist Grimes, Isaacson told the Twitter Spaces event.

He claims she once told him that Musk could be 'unpleasant' when he was in that mood but that it 'gets shit done.'

The biographer said his upcoming book will aim to balance Musk's controversial moments with his 'incredible' work at Tesla and Space X, and will argue that many brilliant inventors' complex characteristics often made them effective visionaries.

Isaacson suggests that Musk's 'dark streak' may be attributed to the innovator's relationship with his father, Errol, who Musk has previously described as 'a terrible human being.'

In a statement shared with Insider, Errol denied contributing to his son's 'dark streak', saying that 'these days Elon and I are on fairly good terms.'

Musk has caused numerous controversies in his personal and professional conduct.

This week the Wall Street Journal reported that the Twitter CEO had been seen using ketamine, a known anesthetic.

Musk is said to have told people he microdoses the drug for depression and takes full doses while at parties.

On Tuesday night, the Twitter CEO also tweeted: 'Depression is overdiagnosed in the US, but for some people it really is a brain chemistry issue.

'But zombifying people with SSRIs for sure happens way too much. From what I've seen with friends, ketamine taken occasionally is a better option.'

Musk had been referring to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) which are the most commonly prescribed antidepressants.

They treat depression by increasing levels of serotonin in the brain and are also sometimes used to treat anxiety disorders.

In 2018 Musk had smoked marijuana while on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' podcast which caused the share price of his company Tesla to plummet.

As a result, he and employees at his space exploration company SpaceX were subjected to drug tests for months.

Elon Musk created a couple of super-successful corporations.
The success of any corporation is mostly defined by the people working there.
The only logical no-bull conclusion is Musk is very good at building large and successful collectives. This is obvious to anybody with brains and without a target to find dirt.
Twitter was rotten. The only way to save the company was the surgery made by Musk. The surgery was painful but obviously successful, just like about everything Elon is doing. Twitter is kicking. You should relax and cope with the reality.

This narrative is laughable. Musk is no different than Trump. He does not pay his vendors, lies to his customers, deliveries products/services which are late & substandard, misrepresents his financials, abuses his employees, and is a classic example of an narcissistic, nutcase boss with no empathy.
