LOL I'm such a geek. I just cobbled together a Python script to follow any hashtags or tweeters I want using the streaming interface. The Twitter streaming API is a very fast (low latency) interface and gets tweets instantly.
The stock Twitter interface has considerable delay when new tweets are posted. My script gets them within milliseconds of posting.

 

What happened to my nasty response ? Are they deleting posts here without informing?
