I am treating myself to a new laptop for the office and want to have access to TV while at the office (probobly not a good idea but I want it anyway). I can get cable in my office complex.

If you were going to set the laptop up with a TV tuner would you have it on a second monitor or would you just have the TV mounted on a wall and not mess with the laptop? What should I know about hardware/software to view cable in the office?

    Thanks.

There are a few small, flash-drive size USB TV tuners.

If I could I would "just have the TV mounted on a wall and not mess with the laptop".

But because I can't and don't even have access to cable, I use a slingbox (http://www.slingmedia.com/) at home and connect to it with the sling player.

    Works nicely.

sling box works very well you control your TV just like you are at home. A bonus is you can also monitor your house thru it.
