Please don't engage the moron, and anyway, he can't prove a negative... Also, I am sure the managers of LTCM were able to present a very logical argument why their models should ALWAYS work.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00hcglt/b00hcgh1/Money_Programme_The_Speculators/ Another very good and also topical programme.
That is a good series, The Money Programme. Here are a few episodes from Youtube: Gold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MeMwwn81LI&feature=related Northern Rock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pPMHs-AmU8&feature=related Bill Gates: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pPMHs-AmU8&feature=related
BBC marxist bias against free markets. This program failed to mention that you need speculators to take risk from producers and end users.
he is probably trying to be funny. I only lost one day this month using technical analysis and that's probably even my own fault. On a day like yesterday made 162 pips en even left like 80 obvious pips on the table at least not being too focused, all thanks through technical analysis. He he really thinks his claim is true it is cause he doesn't know how to make it work ...
I have done so multiple times in the past on this forum. You can search on "technical analysis studies" under my ID I have put links to studies and books about this a few times. The TA side has NEVER presented proof other than personal belief, experience and opinions. Since it is well known that few traders make a real living from trading, and that ET is full of paper traders claiming to be successful, I would say the burden of proof is on TA people (besides pure price action) to show why the institutional studies, which are very powerful, are wrong. I challenge anyone to show that TA (not including pure price action) definitively works longterm. Through hard, solid, statistical proof, not "I know someone who..." Again, over 90% of traders are believed to lose their money, and it is also believed most traders use TA. That does not make it very promising for TA, either.
You are out of luck, BBC made Youtube to take it down.. "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by BBC Worldwide Ltd.."
