Actually, a lot of what I have heard from her is quite positive. I don't agree with everything but then again I don't agree with Trump on everything either, and he is a buffoon. I'd vote for a corpse over Maxine.
I could deal with Trump's weirdness if he actually got things done. I give him credit for the China trade war and Supreme Court Justices, but he has totally and utterly failed on immigration and border control. His response now is to attack his supporters who point that out. He has done absolutely nothing about another big threat, that of social media censorship of his own supporters. Baffling. No dem would have tolerated such treatment of their base. I don't know how he expects to be reelected. No doubt some establishment republican consultants have assured him that he is a shoo-in with the stockmarket and economy doing so well. Good luck with that.
The Fed and the stock market is actually one of the biggest issues I have with him (other than immigration).
Do you honestly think one of the people you support would have done better? The Fed has a long history of creating unnecessary recessions, which carry great financial and personal costs to those on the margins. The dems now have adopted MMT, which maintains that the government can indefinitely run very large deficits that the fed will finance by buying bonds, ie what they did during the Obama administration.
It isn't about whether one of the "people I support" (whoever they are, please tell me) would do better. It is that the person I voted for promised one thing and delivered another. Bait and switch. And they didn't even give it the ol' college try. They just pivoted 180 degrees and went in the exact opposite direction they were railing against.
Without doing any research, I recall you saying repeatedly you would vote for Biden over Trump and now Tulsi. Hey, it's your prerogative but you seem pretty rational and support gun rights and immigration control, so excuse me if I don't get it.
Because sometimes one has to compromise in this world. If the choice was between a lunatic that supported gun rights and a moderate, civil person that supported a few other less important principles I supported but didn't support gun rights, I might just choose the moderate, civil person. I am not a binary individual.
OK, well I talk to lots of Bush-voter types who agree with you. George Will probably does. He called Trump a "vulgarian." Probably pretty accurate, but we weren't electing him to be our interior decorator. Ann Coulter said the default character description of Trump among his supporters was "douchebag." But she also said you don't ask the fireman pulling you out of a burning building if he's cheating on his wife. We knew what we were getting with Trump and made that tradeoff because what he promised was worth it. Sadly, he has failed to deliver on the most important part of that. So we're right back in the same problem we've had with republicans since Reagan left. They are despicable but the alternative is worse.
"Hey, I don't want the country to be run by an old cis white male anymore." - Probably some left winger
