Hey all, I had a really tough afternoon, and I was wondering if anyone who faired well would share what indicators they used to either stay out (I felt like today was choppy) or trade profitably. Thanks in advance... roy
My indicator? Price It was not particularly choppy. It was bearish, then bullish, then slightly bearish again before session close. The morning was in fact fairly easy to trade. I admit the stable uptrend that followed wasn't quite what I expected either but that's what a long position is for, right? The opportunity to short after 3 PM was quite obvious in the ES, too. Perhaps you can post your trades here and let us examine where the problem was.
Just as important as where price is going is also how fast it gets there. You might have noticed that the tick rate in the indexes was rather slow today, meaning money velocity was low. Those are good times to stay out or reduce your position size. RT
Here's what I use (via alex). We chopped out for a gain but it wasnt 'that' easy. Stochastic Advance/Declines 20 Pd MA Standard Candle Stick Charts Volume Indication Bars with MA $TICKS
