An Oxford University study interviewing 23 of RT's journalists noted that it regularly hired personalities with little or no experience, often making employment offers before they graduated from college, so that it could influence their work more easily. One of its leading personalities, Rachel Blevins, was recruited from her work on fringe websites and radio networks; she accepted the RT offer largely because it was in line with her left-wing and "anti-imperialist" philosophies far more than other American networks, and she continued to defend the network until and after its demise.[28]
