TT FIX Adapter vs. XTAPI latency comparison

Discussion in 'Automated Trading' started by Rod Shaft, Jun 25, 2008.

  1. Has anyone out there compared the latency on executions between the TT FIX Adapter and XTAPI? I presume FIX is faster, but if so by how much (ballpark)?

My understanding is the XTAPI is marginally faster; however, I have never conducted any proper benchmark testing. I would be curious to see the results as well.

    ditto.

I'd be interested in the results as well.

Any brokers feel like bugging their tech staff?

I would say that as long as you are connected through a broker you will always go through their gateway, with probable risk check etc. Considering that the speed difs between both connectors are futile. If you have a direct connection with the exchange, clearing directly, with co-location of servers and the like, then it gets vital.

The soon your trading sucess will get dependent on the speed diffs in both connectors you officially entered the Latency race, which is basically a game for them that have very deep pockets.

  5. To put it another way...
If you so not have a million dollar tech budget...
Then why would you chose to compete head-on with those that do?
