  2. Now, now Pek....let's be gentle on him.
What kills me is his constant announcements and tweets.
That just gets the short-sellers squimish and then they bail.
One of these days, that behavior will stop...and then this overpriced stock will tank.

  3. Elon is an awesome dude, there's no doubt in it, Tesla is a great company - no one will argue with that. The question is only about the evaluation of the stock.

I never understood why people worship him? He is a habitual liar, once he got lucky with Paypal and since then he is getting his relatives into his companies leadership positions, where they ruin those companies. I guess that is family business for you.

Not to mention the entirely stupid ideas of hyperloop or golfing on Mars. Why don't we make Earth a better place? We could start by making a cheap electric vehicle. That would be a novel idea...

I agree, I think he's smart but not the genius everyone is making him out to be.

  6. Yes, Tesla is great. The problem is that it operates on negative cash flow. As soon as it has trouble razing enough capital from investors or borrow it may run into big troubles.

Tesla show to the world that electric car is the reality and the electric cars are going to stay on the market no matter what. It pushed other car manufacturers to work in this direction. BMW, Ford and other companies are heavily investing into this sector and they have enough capital to catch and beat Tesla. If Tesla does not change its business model to become profitable, when BMW and other manufactures flood the market with their electric cars, the investors may stop giving money to Musk. When FED increases the interest rates, Musk may have trouble to borrow money. Then what? The only hope it will crash to the level when it became attractive to be bought out. However, with SolarSity (cousin's balloted company) in the back pack...

Mar's colonization???? - It is going to be the biggest SCAM of the first half of this century. Musk is just trying to get more funds by following the President's agenda... We have no big stations on the Earth orbit, we do not have livable stations on Moon and Musk is going to colonize Mars??? The scam is aimed to hunt the people who had trouble finishing a school and who watched too many Si-Fi movies... Check only one small simple thing - how smaller gravity on Mars would affect the human body....

  8. Oh, come on, Tesla is working on a cheap EV, I don't know why do you hate him so much, but as every man of success he isn't flawless, he made a lot of mistakes, he will make more, but he's trying to do the good thing. All in good time, cheap EVs are coming don't worry, give it some time.

  9. To start with a little dip. Should break $200 with good announcement though. Still have 97% of my net worth in it (since $192)

I like Musk, I think he's a great entrepreneur that's living out his technological fantasies and ultimately wants to do good in the world, however, I think the title of genius should be used sparingly and reserved for great thinkers about life and the universe (e.g. Einstein, Newton, Darwin etc) or people that made huge discoveries/innovations when there was very little base prior to work with. Musk is expanding on existing technologies and not really a discoverer/inventor IMO but I respect him for taking on industries with significant barriers to entry and challenging the status quo.
