Great cars, but the resale guarantees are now gone or limited to two years? 2016 model 90s are selling for half of sticker. That's a tough sell. Worst RV outside of Jaguar or Land Rover.

  2. Most regular cars cannot get 300 miles on a full tank of gas with normal errand daily driving so not sure who would complain about that kind of range.

Also so many places have car charge parking spots (usually near the front too) as in malls, airports, train stations and other similar places that if you are out and about you can easily charge the car on someone else's plug while shopping or doing something else.

I don't own one but never thought the mileage was the issue, just the cost which is what prevents Tesla from achieving the next level growth. The exclusivity of the cost means sales will be on par with hig end vehicles and they certainly have a lot of costs to overcome. TESLA dealerships, or at least the ones I have seen, look like spotless research labs (no gas or oil leaking regularly) and look expensive to build and outfit with tech and labor. It will take a much higher sale rate to overcome that whole, like AMZN in the early days. If they keep making different types of cars and they can make the solar panel biz affordable the growth could come.

  3. Cannot compare driving on long stretches of highways in Europe versus normal driving in South Florida. I don't think the intended customer is one who drives long distance regularly on the Autobahn wanting to do 80mph.

Sorry, but it is true. They are using a Tesla 90D for that performance test, not the P100D, and they say they aren't using the P100D because it's not available in the UK. You should watch the video before you post it.

I assume so, but where are they taking all those used up battery cells? So far it hasn't costed them anything, but once the cars are getting older, that is going to be a pretty penny to dispose toxic waste...

Honestly I still don't know why I am not a paid SA contributor. Everybody is talking this and analyzing that there(and I enjoy reading them), but I am the one getting the price right:

If your taking a lot of 600+ mile trips, then you're right... a Tesla just isn't the right car for you.

  8. he was also remarking on 0-60 time...yet ALSO the Tesla 1/4 mile time smokes the euro cars et al ..its funny the selective hearing.

add in at least 9x more efficient
using USA made energy mostly to charge..

    re the depreciation...Dad had the 750Li with 30,000 miles, 4 yrs , paid 85,000, trade in 13,000.

car caught on fire at office , totaled and squeezed them for 14k.

I watched the video. It is a model S.
Saw another one with the 100 model :

From 0-60 the difference with a Mercedes is less than half a second. On a 1/4 mile the difference is 0.21 sec. You need a stopwatch to see the difference. But even if not , what is the use in real live?

What is important in daily usage? That's the question. The faster acceleration (in insane mode!) is just a marketing tool. Limited range, long loading times, expensive repairs are more important then 0.5 seconds faster from 0-60.

I beat any Tesla on a 400 miles trip. But the day Tesla can beat me I will buy a Tesla as I like the car. But not realistic for the needs I have at this moment.

I agree, it is a good second car. Just to drive around the block. But far to expensive for that.
