AMZN got the benefit of the doubt due to essentially monopolistic practices and the cloud. Now the leverage is bearing fruit. TSLA produces durables at a loss of $5B a year. It's not cold-fusion; it's a car.
The thing about TSLA is they have a charging network built and expanding. Where is the network for the other car companies?
lol. There is a station in Truckee CA. A couple of years ago you'd see one or two cars getting their charge during the workday. I was there twice in March and have yet to see a Tesla charging. You'd think over two years time that the cars would be waiting in queue.
Tesla is like Apple: everyone else uses the same connector but not Tesla. the other car companies use standard connections.
model 3 owners will not be @ superchargers because they will have to pay; unlike Model S..as you well know. lol
There is this adapter thingy now: https://electrek.co/2017/06/20/tesla-j1772-adapter-electric-cars-destination-chargers/ Also in Europe and China they are standardizing the stations so ALL EVs can use them, except Tesla.
A friend of a friend bought a fully loaded model X 100D for 137k Euros 12 months ago. He went to the dealership last week to trade it in on a Model S. They offered him 75k!! 62k Euro depreciation to drive 18000 miles. Wow Guy was not happy
Not sure about that, in China Tesla has been giving out adapters to its clients, I understood so one could use any charger or at least the ubiquitous Byd chargers. Never tried it though.
