"Say what you will about Elon Musk, but with his new plan to bring people to Mars, nobody is a more creative serial killer" - Norm MacDonald
Looks like Musk understands that renewables will not grow quickly enough to replace coal and oil and is putting money on the table to tackle the problem of carbon emissions. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announces $100 million donation for the best carbon capture technology - Electrek https://flip.it/roFQS
I thought I was done with this thread but your post caught my attention. Musk is right: Plant more trees. Here is a ROM (rough order of magnitude) calculation. On average, 1 acre of trees absorbs ~2-3 tons of CO2 a year, a typical passenger car emits ~2-5 tons of CO2 a year. In the US, we have ~100 million cars we drive around every year? Rough number, we need 100 million acres of new trees to offset all the car emissions. That is ~150,000 square miles or ~400 mi x 400 mi area. Entirely doable in the US. We can even plant more and sell the CO2 credit to other countries. I am not saying this will work but it is something that has much less collateral damage to our environment. There are more far out but equally "clean" and doable solutions if you give me a little more time to "blue-sky".
Paper Tiger Trade! There is too much ego in this. The price is higher than the OP first call. It is really tough to short a bull market. If I were to short TSLA, I would wait for the overall market to breakdown along with TSLA, then short after a good bounce back up.
Few great Finance professors are great traders. Few great traders are great Finance professors. Few great NBA coaches are great NBA players.... It is not the recipe but the process, not the equations but the philosophy, the principles....
And dont forget, there are a lot of people that don't play or coach in the NBA Don't trade or profess finance
