All electric cars are registered in a Crash Recovery System (CRS), not only the electric specifications but also instructions, on how to handle in case of an accident. Because of risk of electrocution, depending on how big the car is damaged, saving people inside of the cars can take a long time. Much longer then in conventional cars. Instructions tell what to do in case of fire, where to cut and more importantly where NOT to cut the body of the car...
I know of an accident with a Tesla where the driver could not quickly be cut out of the car as the car was in fire and the procedures had to be followed, which was very time consuming. As the driver was already dead the pressure was not so high, but imagine people burning alive in the car as they cannot quickly be saved due to procedures and risk for firemen and medics to be electrocuted. These problems don't exist with conventional cars.

  2. Anyone following TSLA today?

Looks like the plunge prevention team is at work now (the spike a minute ago). The aggressive vertical upticks were meant to scare the weak shorts?

Either that or some holders are trying to create a fake rally so as to dump their shares at a higher price.

It doesn't make sense for regular, real buyers to bid up the price like that.

I did and it had an opposite day. Market was up at one point 1% and TSLA was only breakeven. Then at 3 pm the market pulled back and Tesla rallied like there is no tomorrow.

I expect it to go up to $320, then it is a good short again...

No way it hits $320 tomorrow. It would need to be a very low volume day.
I mean it could happen... but the power of the press works both ways.

Elon needs to be very careful in what he Tweets in his defense of an inevitable avalanche of criticism.
Huge tragedy, but even if he's right in his defense, he can't vocalize that.
This one might sting a little.

F'n parents shouldn't be letting HS kids drive $30K plus high performance sports cars anyway in my opinion.
Where the rubber meets the road... I blame the parents of those kids.
I know that one will generate some discourse here.... but its just my opinion.

    • TSLA at 306.85.
    • Maybe not tomorrow ... but by next Friday May 18 TSLA could easily reach $320.00.
    • Low or high volume - it doesn't matter.

Well, regardinging the end result in the price of a stock.... you are correct, volume doesn't matter.

But when there's a smaller pool of buyers and sellers, its easier for a stock to move up or down on any given day. If no one is interested in playing, it doesn't take many buy orders to move a stock up (or down). So volume does matter.

Thats why its important to discern the validity of (based on volume) large gaps in a stock's movement.

  6. I guess no matter what happens and how much money TSLA loses - the fanboys will continue trusting Elon Musk. No matter how much he is lying to them. Like the wife catching her husband cheating and he tells her "Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?”

So you do understand the amount of energy contained in 20 gallons of gasoline? A given amount of stored energy is dangerous pretty much regardless of how it's stored!

I wonder how much "Elon" premium is built into this stock.
I bet at least 70% of the share price is "Elon". At least.
I mean heaven forbid anything happen to him, but what if it did? Where would the bottom be on the stock? $80?

I was trying to think if that has ever happened to a stock before. The only one that comes to mind was last year the CEO of CSX died; and he was highly regarded. The stock went from like $59 to $51 intra-day but recovered shortly thereafter.

And Oscar Munoz at UAL.... I think it might have dropped when he had a heart transplant. I don't know why on that one though lol... the way he snuffs out puppies at that operation.

  9. If those playing TSLA push it to $320, wouldn't they be risking too much? I can see why someone with large holdings want to initiate a suckers rally amid thin volume so as to dump their shares at better prices. I doubt that someone with big accounts would want to take TSLA for real and bid it up to $320.

Barring some hidden developments, I think it's about time that people start playing defense and reduce their TSLA holdings.
