There's nothing democratic about this poll. Musk, like Trump, can't seem to differentiate populism from democratic voting. Ego driven media whores willing to discard the choice of the majority for the adulation of a hardcore minority.
I think the Saudi Royal Wealth fund are behind his mock poll? I know it’s gossip they want a CEO, not Elon. The photos of Jared and Elon at the World Cup with Saudis, interesting.
Kidding aside...The OP kinda has a point in all this tho https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...sk-sells-at-least-3-6-billion-of-tesla-shares This type of behavior usually only happens in penny stocks. He openly pumped it "ruthlessly" on all social media. Then quietly dumped it just as "ruthlessly". His shinning pump and dump manipulation was when he claimed he was going to take Telsa private to squeeze the shorts and got away with it. After that, investors realized it was a legal pumping machine. If he sold as many cars as stonks...he would be Henry Ford.
I would say it is most commonly observed in penny stocks. But it happens in commodities, currencies, stock index futures, small caps, and Mega tech. Lately, with the advent of 0DTE options, you can see these patterns occur intraday. There is a lot of manipulation going on, and if you train your eye to spot, you can profit like the manipulators with none of the legal exposure. Those twitter pumpers that were just arrested. I see no problem with what they are doing. Is it really all that different from Goldman and Morgan and all the analysts and then Cramer going on tv to pump Coinbase IPO to the public at $400+ per share so that they can then dump it on the same public? It is not at all different and the SEC should be chasing after real criminals. Think about it: You read that indictment of the twitter promoters and you know the SEC was working that case for over a year. Meanwhile, FTX.
So on a day that $NDX made a reversal higher (imo it likely will be short-lived) TSLA is down almost -$9.00. Musk needs to start another twit-poll. Should he step down ... as Tesla CEO?
No one can save Tesla. It is a takeover candidate, and it needs its share price to come down to meet its value price.
