He promised a 50K pick up. Yeah right, I am signing up right away... Probably will be available for 2 weeks, if you order it by fax.

On the other hand I think Tesla is a buy here at 185, based on waiting for a bounce from 50% drop from ATH.

If it can't bounce up to 220, this stock is dead. Dead Jerry, dead, dead, dead.

    50K truck = 35K car
    Bare bones likely.
Pending the unknown, I think this stock is dead for years.
The unknowns really come down to trusting the man, the company, timing of products, availability of batteries, manufacturing space, big picture of the market.

good for 1/4 % pt after hrs. It's as if Musk's tweets just don't pack the same punch

Servicing their debt costs them 1/3rd of the made cars' profits:

"Let's put that in some perspective. With this latest raise, Tesla is probably in the range of $70,000,000 interest expense each and every MONTH. Let's say that their cars sell for an average of $55,000 and have a 25% gross margin (a very generous hypothetical). In that case, they would have to sell 5000 cars each month just to pay the debt service, and that is before paying any of the other expenses that aren't in COGS.

Of course, in a more reality-based scenario of 13% margins we're talking 30,000 cars sold each quarter just to service the debt. That's about half their production just going to cover interest expense. Tell me how a company could ever pull out of that tailspin."

I am reading chatter online that Shanghai has limited new license plates for cars, perhaps has 420,000 in line for 60,000 plates per year. Interesting comment that perhaps 3 yr no interest leases get free plate, no waiting.

other chatter is about the demand problems this could cause

Thanks for the link. Oh boy... I felt bad for the sign language guy who at one point just gave up, signaling"he is not saying anything"....

And I actually felt bad for Elon when the PITA girl BSed about not having animal products in the car. Leather rules bitch!

This first video is just fascinating. Shows on site worker accommodations and is also a little different view of street food.

    Ok, this is different also.
Chanos is long some calls: https://electrek.co/2019/06/18/tesla-bear-jim-chanos-hypocrite-hedges-tsla/

Chanos said to be Diogenes on Twitter:
Where he says Musk has a "tell" of looking up and to the left. From a bear, or a guy spreading FUD, this seems to suggest he says Musk is lying.

If one accepts as science that eye position shows what the brain is doing, classically up and to the left is what one does recalling facts.

Chanos should fold, or at least keep his eyes shut when he is talking...
