I can't fault them on this one. Nitpicky customers can drive the bulk of customer service/support

I don't think he was specially nitpicky. Also, a sale is a sale is a sale. They should make better cars.

I remember watching an interview of a guy that was automating his business and managed to run most of it remotely. It stuck with me that having to live with certain clients was preventing his company from reaching those goals since they took up a disproportionate amount of manpower & resources so he dumped them. Just something that I always keep in mind. Couldn't find the original interview, but this article covers some gist of it. I don't know the particulars of this guy but Ferrari springs to mind when it comes to being arrogant about their clientele.

Even Amazon, Costco & Home Depot dumped some of their troublesome customers.

The SCTY deal is scrutinized and the board members are liable for Musk´s oversized payment package.

˝The documents show that Musk was informed at a SolarCity board meeting in October of 2015 that the solar installer needed to raise up to $300M and was slashing its solar installation forecast for the year. They also show that Musk described Tesla, SolarCity and SpaceX as a pyramid atop which he sat, which each dependent upon on the other for survival˝

Musk literally said those companies are pyramid schemes... :)
