TS8 lowers rates again

  1. I've been using TS since late 2002. I believe the combination of charting, backtesting, and brokerage is great for anyone trading small to moderate size and swing/position trading.
I have heard numerous complaints regarding data integrity and order execution. My thoughts:
    1. Data Integrity= it is an issue with TS, from time to time. Since Sept 05, I can remember 3 instances when bad data was charted for over 1 minute before being corrected. Unfortunately, one of these instances triggered an erroneous position.
    2. Order Execution= I have never had a problem with order execution. I have had a problem (2 times) with lagging data which delayed my order to be triggered, but all limits/market orders have been executed quickly once sent to TS server.

My biggest issue with TS is their support. Anyone who has been with TS for a while will tell you...prepare to be on hold if you have a problem.

I would not suggest scalping (using TS as a broker) simply bc of previous data lag issues. For me, TS works great for swing trading and small size (sub 50 contracts). The new incentives for active traders (regarding commissions and platform fees) are nice also.

Once I step up the volume, I will probably look to Velocity for brokerage. But you never know what kind of data delays you will encounter until you run that application on YOUR dedicated machine.
