It's getting Okay. Trying not to eat like a bird and sh*t like an elephant. Trying to focus on what matters (Propensities and Reward to Risk) Trying to learn from my mistakes (Risk management, Not letting winners run, Overtrading (No Edge)) Trying to build a sound roadmap, template or checklist and be consistent. Thanks for asking.
Looking good. Win rate over 50%, winners more than losers, win/loss ratio could be improved but not necessary if you can keep the win rate over 50%. One thing I noticed was lack of commissions. ???
I don't use Ninja that much therefore I've not taken the time to update the commission template however they're built in RTrader. You can see default commission is 2.02 per side. Remember it's not a live account. Still trying to get "Funded". We should subtract 4.04 from the average profit and add -4.04 to the average loss. 57/47 = 1.21 vs 1.43 RR Thanks for the feedbacks ! Trying to take smaller losses to get a better Reward2Risk therefore I might decrease the hit rate going forward. Also trying to let winners run a bit longer (in addition to taking smaller losses). Skipping little profits for little losses and bigger profits. Trying to focus on better tapes -> trades such as to reduce the loss % Main goal is to avoid blowing out in 1 or 2 trades. Really trying to take minimal losses with good Expected Value. I mean I currently have 275$ to risk (10%) Which represents about 5 ES points. If I split it in 5 trades then I should risk 1point per trade which is doable in the right conditions and my main target is 10% or to double my daily risk which is 5 points. Gonna risk 1 point for 5 points. That's the requirements. Now I need to find specific situations where and when this trade make sense. Anyway that’s the kind of one sided tape I am looking for so the position is justified. Let's see how it goes.
NQ was showing strength vs ES I kept shorting it and made most of my money there. Took a small scalp on Soybeans as I got interrupted and … that’s it. Overall I’ve not made mistakes today, Could have avoided the loss (Short on NQ) but better safe than sorry.
New Setup. Back to Chartless. Going to focus on these 6 futures, Most traded futures in each categories. Currencies, Energies Financials, Indexes, Metals and Grains. Added some context, Gonna focus on breakouts. I'll buy what's trading above yesterday high. I'll short what's trading below yesterday low. Today we had Long ES and ZC + Short ZN Need to keep track of what they did yesterday vs the day before. Yesterday ES had an inside day, ZN made a new low and ZC made a new high. Might be interesting to fade highs / Lows in downtrends / Uptrends. VWAP is an interesting support / resistance in a trending market. Need more context into my trading. See what the best plays look like I can't blindly trade every tape swing highs and lows. Need to focus my attention where the real money is laying down. I have to be able to catch the "If only I had known about it" moves The moves of the centuries. The memorable ones. "Yeah ... I was short CL when it turned negative" "Yeah ... I was long GC when it was in a bull market" Definitely need to take a step back. CONTEXT ! Focus on What's in Play. Obviously the best action isn't contained within yesterday's High and Low.
Day #1 +12% 2255/5000 Can't have too many ladders on my screen because it lags. Going to trade CL, ES and GC. But it's too much already. Maybe if I display only the 10 best bids and offers, Might be lighter on the network side.
